Because he's a bit of a chav.

Be honest, that's why he was fired and not because of anything he's actually done.

Thanks for the spoiler.
Is this a joke?

You weren't seriously reading The Apprentice forum after the show has been transmitted not wanting the result spoilt for you?

What are the traits of a typical chav?

Low intelligence? Ignorance?

If so, then yes I agree. He was not intelligent and was totally out of his depth.

No, he was fired because he was a statue.

Nice chap, Glenn.
I don't think he was unintelligent, not everyone who has "got it" flaunts it. He is a professional man so can't be daft. He probably wasn't the right sort to go into business with Ld Sugar but his boardroom performance let him down.
Still he did well to get to week 7.
Lovely eyes. He will do well.

Competing for a six figure salary job is one of those times you may want to show your intelligence- not flaunt, but at least show it And to be honest, it did seem like he was trying to flaunt something. He was pretty arrogant in his VT.

He's probably not totally daft, though it is possible to be a profession man and be a bit daft in other areas- and his business skills were pretty poor.

Lovely eyes. He will do well.
I’m not sure that’s what Lord Sugar is after

Shame the boss of the show isn't the guy who runs Spec Savers then.

Chav has become an overused term.

Glenn in no way was a chav. You will never see a chav in a suit.

I've still got to watch last nights episode, I went to bed early as i only got less then 2 hours sleep the night before and i woke up with the tv on at the point he got sacked!

I thought after the pet task that he was the one who was emerging the most actualy and I will be interested to see if he did mess up or not.

I watched your fired and i get the impression, Sugar is too set in his ways/thinking/perceptions and in every series he sacks people who so shouldn't be fired or he sacks people who should win but don't and he ends up giving the win to a much weaker one imo.

Frankly, LorSirAlun's final comment couldnt be clearer and made me wonder why Glenn was even in the show.

When Sugar comes out with "I have never met an engineer who could turn his hand at business" you wonder if Glenn had a chance at all?.

I think a lot of it has to do with previous performances and LS using the opportunity presented to fire someone he doens't like.

Although he won the petfood task, he was a pretty woeful project manager.

But to be fair to him, I thought he did quite well last week.

I'm a big Jim supporter, but he did deserve to go last night and think he only survived because he has certain skills ie: he's good at dealing with people in business.

Similar to Edna last week! ' I don't really care what you did in the task, your qualifications don't impress & perhaps even threaten me...can't see myself going into business with someone like you!'

What they do in the tasks is becoming less & less relevant in the boardroom. It then comes down to how they conduct themselves and whether they have impressed/displeased Nick or Karen who will reference them accordingly.

Hence Suzie still there (she wouldn't be without Nick.)

I don't like to call anyone a chav, and don't think their personal background matters to SA, especialy if its on the less posh end of the scale...!

Does anyone know when Glenn's supposed relationship with Zoe began? I recall that Lord Sugar was "furious" about it. Could he have used that as a reason to get rid of Glenn? Obviously not if it was something that happened after completion of filming.

Really?

He should be used to it by now.

Furious? I doubt it.
When Kate and Pantsman's relationship was brought up in the boardroom he was pretty calm about it - as it hadn't affected the task & who was brought back into the final boardroom - unlike Katie Hopkins and Paul Callaghan in series 3 where Paul should have been in the firing line but was let off the hook by Katie.

Actually he wasn't furious with Katie and Paul, either. Indeed, he criticised Adam for bringing it up (especially the second time, after he'd been told not to the first time). Paul was right not to bring Katie into the boardroom on the French task. Many mistakes, such as buying cheese or the silly burners, she wasn't involved with (although Adam was). Other mistakes, such as leaving the stall with no French speakers, she was following the PM's instructions. In my view Paul should have brought Adam and Ghazal; not Kristina, but also not Katie. It's partly because Lord Sugar was confident Paul wasn't being biased that he criticised Adam for raising it.

You can bet that Sugar fired him because he wasn't impressed with his business plan. This and the fact that Glenn seemed to be rather inexperienced. Remember we only see a small proportion of what goes on. Sugar knows which candidates have the most viable business plans and they will be the ones going through to the interviews.

Could someone remind me ... was that the task where Paul tried to fry the sausages under the heat of a candle?

Under?

At least he could have had the sense to try and fry it over.

Did no one tell him that heat* rises?

* Well, convection heat, anyway.
