"HIP Replacement" title sank the boat
HIP Replacement
sank the magazine beyond redemption the way Sugared Water would have bankrupted Coca Cola. Any suggestions for a title with appeal to senior citizens? No, Coffin Dodgers is ruled out. ![]() The best nomination will win a 5-star holiday accompanied by the hottest Apprentice candidate, the worst will be fired after a forum vote. |

It was hilarious when Glen said the tagline made it ironic... "Out with the old in with the new"
That's just another reference to a hip op, you plank! |

New Codger
Play on the 'old codger' moniker and suits the image of 60 being the new 30. |

New Codger
They could have won with that and a better photograph for the front cover. |

The best title was suggested by the guy at the bowling club. Zimmer - I nearly fell off my chair laughing at that one, brilliant!

Not sure whether to post here or in the Susan thread.
While I believe the Hip Replacement name was far from great when Glenn and Susan pitched their (or the team's ideas) for titles they kept getting negative responses. From the edit it seemed that Zoe was the one looking to come up with some sort of name - which Jim then went with - though changing the concept. While I believe that Susan was right that it was a poor name, I believe that a major reason that she was not listened to was that she couldn't or didn't have the confidence to pitch another title, having had several rejections from the focus group. |

I thought the 'Young at Heart' suggestion was the best - maybe that was too long listening to radio 2, and Terry Wogan playing that song as the 'Tog's anthem'

No I agree with you. The Young at heart would have been a better tittle for the magazine. I didn't like Hip replacement at all.

Very reminiscant of "PantsMan" - Phillip probably pushed it too hard, but there was no sensible alternative from the others. |

'You'll Be Gone Soon' would have been a better title that 'Hip Replacement'.

Hip Replacement may have sufficed given a modern font and a front cover showing oldies with an energy for life.
There can't be many who think Times Roman is trendy or a couple clinging to each other for life support echoes today's over 60's. |

I would call it "Silver Style". Bit o' alliteration, playing on "Silver Surfer", "lifestyle" and all that, while still hinting at "style", "fashion", etc.
