Not exactly what you 're asking for, but got mine from 3, the 16gb/3g version , 229 pounds up front and a contract of 25 pounds/ 15GB allowance per month , for 2 years.

If you re a 3 customer, you will get a discount ( not sure how much)

In terms of performance - 3 is very, very good

check it on this link

Why not get an Asus eee pad? Its better and cheaper than an ipad2.

The Asus is an android tablet. Chances are there will be learning apps for kids in the android market as well.

A quick search in the android market throws up a load of learning apps for kids.

Also have a look at this site. You may find it useful when looking at other tablet models.

I'll be nicer than doesyourheadin, who was out of order, but depending on how old your kids are, wouldn't it be cheaper and just as effective to look at some of the V-tech range of learning aids?

Save up or get a better job. Finance is a con!

I agree with stud u like. Don't buy stuff on finance, it is a rip off. You would be better off getting a credit card with an introduction interest free option. Just make sure you pay it all off by the time you have to start paying interest again. A lot of people just end up putting more and more on the card though and end up shits creek.

Best way is to just wait a month or two and save up.

It looks to be about £20 cheaper than an iPad 2 which isn't really going to make a lot of difference to the OP requiring finance or not.

That's down to personal preference, many people such as myself prefer iOS.

And as said the cost difference is marginal.

As others have said, virtually any useful app you can think off for iPad there will be android app that is similar. For kids, there is tons of stuff on android for preschoolers, key stage 1 and 2. Help with reading, writing, maths, science, just about every subject you can think off.

Right now my favourite tablet is the Asus transformer which is a cross between a netbook and a tablet.

At the cheaper end, Advent Vega will do pretty much everything you are looking at doing and can be found on ebay for around £170 or in shops for around £200.

Thats if you get the keyboard as well. You can buy it without the keyboard. Its around the £350 without the keyboard. So quite a big difference.

vodafone rang me up today and offered me an ipad2 for £29 per month, with no upfront charge.
