Has anyone else notice that when they leave lord Sugar's office, after being fired, they always get into the same taxi every week with reg "sxy".
My theory is that the bloke who drives it knows that there is def going to be a fare to be had and hangs around waiting and while he is doing that gets out the polish and gives it a good buffing as it's immaculate.

"Ere, You'll never guess who I had in the back of my cab...11 plonkers in a row!"

As has been mentioned here many times, they film all the exits one after the other on one day so that explains why it's always the same taxi.

Well they do, it's just never seen on TV.

That's what I mean. Bit of trivia I suppose that there is always one person that you don't see in either the taxi of the RR.

I'm not sure they do. Its pretty well established now that the two finalists work for Sugar for a few months then he makes his final decision very close to the actual transmission date.
Hence two versions of the boardroom 'Your hired' are filmed with only the 'winning' one finally shown. This was most obvious to me in series 2 where Ruth and Michelle can't really keep a straight face.
Hence I doubt a runners up taxi is filmed as it would be conjecture on the part of the candidate 'what would I say if I had just lost?'.

Of couse with the new prize all that may change this year

I always thought that the bit where they walk out of the door and get into the taxi were all filmed on one day but the scene in the taxi where they comment on their firing was done on the day it happened.

I'm sure people have commented on here before that sometimes the candidates are wearing different clothes when they're filmed inside the taxi than they were when they were getting into it.

No, the walk from the office building (which is not 'the boardroom') to the taxi is filmed with everyone in one go.

The post firing interviews are filmed separately after the real firing. I believe they ask them to wear the same outfit, for continuity.

Yes - but my point was that I don't think they bother to film a taxi ride for the runner up at all.

This year everyone that is fired wears a big, out of character, scarf walking to the taxi (shot taken early on in series) and then the same scarf is seen whenfilming inside the taxi on the day they actually get fired.... presumably to further hide the fact the shirt/tie/top that won't match due to differing filming dates won't show up as much.

One year didn't one guy have a shaven head just before being fired but not when he walked up to the taxi?!?!

If there are two of them in the taxi, we don't get to see them walking to it.

It would be a bit of a giveaway if they did. "Ellie and Vincent, you two do your walks together. Um, to save time."
