Time and time again Susan's poor grasp of language and nuance gets her into trouble. I think what she meant to say was, "Are French adults bubbly with their children the way Italians are?"

With her poor grasp Susan would be wise not to go too far out on a limb - less is more..

Hilarious, and I am a Susan fan!!

Had to watch it multiple times, hahaa.

that was quite funny, I don't think Susan engages her brain before speaking most of the time and I can see her annoying people with her questions like she did in the rubbish task. Should be a good episode.

Really don't understand why people see her as a potential winner, is it out of sympathy from the whole Zoe thing?

No it's because she has demonstrated more business acumen than any of the others except, perhaps, Helen. (Tom gets such a quiet edit it's hard to tell about him.)

True she has made a few verbal gaffes and no one who makes verbal gaffes *cough* GWB *cough* ever gets anywhere.

Possibly it’s an expensive piece of kit and Susan is thinking out loud before the task. Do enough French people drive and do they love their children enough …. to spend mega Euros on our product?

It’ll be interesting to see if Karren embittered remarks are spot on or if Susan is pre-planning and just rambling out loud pre the task.”

Karren is hardly embittered.

She was spot on with her critique of Susan's comments.

There is alot of that going on, certainly.

I don't think you can really see someone as a potential winner out of sympathy.

Anyway I've liked Susan even before Zoe droned her way to some screentime, I mean for the first few weeks she was practically missing in action.

I suppose not but she seems to get a lot more fans after that, and for some people who they think/want will win are just those they like not who deserve it.

Personally I don't see how she has shown more business acumen than the others, not that I see a winner among them either.

I'm not sure it's necessarily fans, per se.

After that episode there was a small group of posters here who really went to town on her.

At one point there were seven anti-Susan threads on the front page.

That is absurd and shows that there are some very twisted individuals about. When someone engenders that level of irrational hatred it tends to make others for whom she may not even be their favoured candidate (mine's Helen) come to her defence.

But it's a good question. Are they? Anyone know?

She looks hot in that red dress.

I think she is a potential winner and always has been.

Childish immaturity and continually bleating "it's so unfair" aside she usually makes the big calls and makes them right. In the last task she was completely right about Jim's feeble effort to negotiate with the first buyers. His need was greater than theirs.

She does not need to be stupid to say stupid things. I do not think she is an absolute idiot. Although she does whine and act rather childish.

If you want to take the clip at face value and make Karen’s reaction the only point of your reply then yes, seeing Karen stop just short of having steam coming out of her ears amused me.

I was replying to your, err, point, about her "embittered remarks".

Karren was hardly a small step from having steam coming out of her ears.

Karren is an excellent businesswoman and a role model.

She wasn't embittered, she was, however, furious!

I think 'steaming' is a very good metaphor for the way Karen appeared. I've never seen Karen, Nick or Margaret that angry before.

As a mother I think she found the idea that anyone could think that anyone - and certainly an entire country - could not like their children utterly absurd and somewhat distasteful.

But being dismissive of groups you do not know seems to be a bit of a problem for quite a few of the candidates. The attitude of several of the 'Hip Replacement' team towards the over 60's was rather cringeworthy,

Pension Mention !!!!!!!

That was probably one of the most cringeworthy comments I have seen in the show.

That has helped polarise opinion.

Also, Susan and Zoe have been given loads of edit time apparently because of it, and Natasha, Helen and Melody hardly any, so it is relatively hard for anyone to champion the other women as potential winners. Helen does have some support, mainly because of one good task that happened to be recent. Melody had a good task at the start, but it's largely forgotten now.

Just watched the clip and cripes you're right. Hubba hubba sexy Susie.

I'm not sure what the editors are trying to accomplish with her edit, are they hoping people will write her off as a bit of a mess or do they want people to root for her? Confused!!!
Right now, it seems to be the latter option.

I think that Susan does come over as quite niave at times but I also think that she likes winding Zoe up as well! But whatever Susan says I still like her. But she has got a little growing up to do yet!

the amount of abuse we give the germans, and nobody bats an eyelid, and one slightly ignorant comment about the french and the race card is out.

Stop making excuses for when she comes out with completely idiotic statements.”

Idiotic, most definitely. Racist - absolutely not.

She's not saying anything racist or disparaging about the French; she's just asking stupid questions.

It would be quite worrying if, at the age of 21, she didn't.
