They've filmed 2 endings though so no one really knows how it's going to pan out.

Quick question! The "filming 2 endings" thing has been used across all soaps, during big storylines, for as long as I can remember. Do they actually do this or is it a PR thang?

I just want to know what happens now, its gone on way to long.

I'm sure it's a PR "thang". Think of the expense involved in filming twice. It would not only involve the actual ending that was used but also numerous episodes after the "reveal" showing how all the other characters reacted to what happened. Or are they wanting us to believe that they have also filmed two versions of all post reveal episodes. I don't think so!

Atually it's clear from the pictures (on another thread and here on DS) that they have filmed two scenarios.

And all the episodes after so it makes some sense? Or are these just pictures that could be interchangeable?

Hmm, I see what you mean. So, yes I guess those pics are interchangeable - they just swapped the handcuffs round to confuse us.

I don't think they actually film the alternate episode, they just stage pictures to make it appear that way and to add to the suspense. The writers/producers etc are always going to know which direction it will go due to its impact down the line, and so to film two endings would imply filming two consequential storylines which is implausible.

Does anyone have an idea when these will air (the trial), want it over the done with and can't stand seeing yet another character hanging around prison for months.

David heads off to London for a course leaving Kylie at home. Meanwhile, when Gail finds a piece of paper with her bank details on in the pocket of Lewis's blazer, she realises it isn't in Lewis' handwriting.
Gloria returns from the Algarve unannounced with Eric, her new fiance, in tow, stunning her family.

When Tim tells Faye he's been laid off at work and it looks like he may be forced to take a job in Kent, Faye's gutted by the thought of losing her dad when she's only just found him and makes sure he's given reason to stick around.

Mandy moves the rest of her stuff into Lloyd's flat including Flash, her tortoise. Katy's friends swoon over Ryan.

Kylie tries to deny it's her handwriting but Gail can see through her lies and threatens to call the police. Kylie is forced to admit to Gail that Lewis was blackmailing her.

Eric seems quite the catch but as he splashes the cash, and Gloria admits she's only known Eric for 6 weeks, Stella's horrified, convinced she's only after him for his money. How will Gloria react when she discovers that Stella and Jason are an item?

Jason offers Tim a job as a labourer. Faye's ecstatic whilst Owen's annoyed that he'll still be around and tries to talk Jason out of hiring Tim.

Steve and Lloyd realise they've unwittingly disposed of Flash the tortoise on the tip. Katy enjoys spending time with her girlfriends as they plan Steph's 18th birthday at the bistro.

Kylie arrives for work in a foul mood, worried about what Gail is going to tell David. When she then loses her rag with a customer, Kylie tells Nick to stick his job and heads to the pub, where, despite her condition, she proceeds to get drunk. Stella tries to get Kylie to stop but when she ignores her and clambers up onto a table, disaster beckons!

When Eric overhears Stella moaning that Gloria is clearly taking him for a ride and is just after his money, he's given food for thought.

Tim starts working for Jason and promises Faye he'll pop in the cafe later so they can have their tea together. Faye's delighted whilst Anna's uneasy.

Katy catches up with her old friends and decides it's time she started acting her age and having a bit of fun. After months at home looking after baby Joseph, Chesney agrees and tells her to enjoy a night out at friend Steph's 18th birthday party. Katy's thrilled.

Steve comes up with a plan to replace Mandy's missing tortoise. Lloyd's unimpressed but he's forced to go along with it.

David arrives at Kylie's bedside, distraught that she may lose the baby. Kylie regains consciousness and lies to David, telling him she had a few drinks because she was missing him. As Gail fumes at Kylie's deceit, she suddenly takes a turn for the worse.

Eric's seen Gloria in her true colours and now turns his attention to Eva. As she pours her heart out to Eric about her bad luck with men, Eric assures her she'll meet Mr Right very soon.

When Tim presents Faye with a new laptop, Owen's furious. Will Anna overrule him and allow Faye to keep it?

When Steph's DJ lets her down, Katy suggests Ryan does the gig instead. Ryan's thrilled. Jenna catches Lloyd showing Steve the replacement tortoise he's bought, will he be forced to come clean to Mandy?

Gail's horrified as she realises that Nick could be the father of Kylie's baby. Kylie's had surgery for a ruptured spleen and as they wait for news Nick begs Gail not to tell David. As David frets about the baby will Gail reveal the horrible truth?

Eric's had enough of Gloria as she flicks through holiday brochures and he presents Eva with a beautiful necklace. She's flattered but then Eric tells her he's not going to marry Gloria and wants to travel the world with her instead.

Faye's pursuit of a relationship with dad Tim has driven a wedge through Anna and Owen's relationship, which hasn't gone unnoticed by Faye. When Faye rejects Owen's attempts to build bridges he admits to Izzy how much he wants to be Faye's dad but feels pushed out by Tim. Izzy has a go at Anna for failing to support Owen and letting Faye treat him like dirt. How will Anna react?

Steve suggests painting the new tortoise the same colour as Flash then Mandy will never know. At Steph's party, Katy's friends make a play for Ryan the DJ, but Ryan starts to notice there's more to Katy than he first thought!

Oooh, thanks for the latest info, k9. Sounds like an unmissable week. (Well, apart from 'Flash' perhaps).

This looks like an incredibly uninteresting week. Katy and Chesney are one of the few solid, happy couples on the cobbles and to destabilise their relationship for the sake of giving yawn-inducing Recast Ryan some screen time is ludicrous. Mandy has been forced down viewers' throats and, while it's a positive that the Street finally has a black family, Mandy has very little substance as a character and is suddenly everyone's best friend, taking over from Stella in advising customers in t'Rovers. Must do better!
