They don't seem that far ahead with filming - they've only just filmed the fire yet it's less than a month from airing?

I reckon Sunita will be killed off. Someone I know was at the studios today and met the guy who played Yusef in EastEnders didn't he play a relative of Sunita's or something years ago? He could be back for her funeral.

That or Yusef has decided to set fires in Weatherfield instead of Walford.

Chesney Brown pops the question to girlfriend Katy Armstrong later this month, blissfully unaware that she is cheating on him.

Chesney (Sam Aston) is ready to make a full commitment to Katy and their future as a couple, but it seems that Katy is secretly questioning what she wants from life.

Over the next few days, Katy (Georgia May Foote) struggles to deny her feelings for bad boy Ryan Connor as they continue to work together at the kebab shop.

Finally deciding to go ahead with the fling, an excited Katy starts meeting up with Ryan in secret, lying to Chesney about her whereabouts.

When Steph arrives for her date with Ryan, Katy plays the concerned friend and warns her about his dodgy past. His date scuppered, Ryan confronts Katy, accusing her of being jealous. Katy tries to deny it but Ryan silences her with a kiss.

Jason moves into the Rovers but is gutted when he loses the council job due to having no van. Karl taunts him about his recent bad luck.

Sunita thanks Dev for the necklace the twins gave her for Mother's Day. Feeling unworthy of his kindness, she breaks down, confessing to Sophie she was a fool for losing Dev.

Sally starts to lose patience with Gail for impinging on her household routines.

Having heeded Fiz's advice to make Katy feel special, Chesney heads out to buy her a gift. Meanwhile, Katy lies that she's off out with the girls before stealing away with Ryan. As they dance at a club, Ryan and Katy can't keep their hands off each other. Back home, Chesney shows Fiz what he's bought for Katy and reveals his plans for a shock proposal!

Karl's furious to find his wing mirror has been smashed off and accuses Jason. He denies it but Stella quizzes Jason.

Dev's suspicious when Sophie suggests he and Sunita spend time together. She admits that Sunita would love them to reunite but doesn't feel it's fair to ask.

Gail reveals she's going flat-hunting next week and Sally hopes time flies. Paul brings Toni to the Rovers. Eileen apologises for her behaviour but Toni graciously tells her to forget it.

When Ryan borrows Chesney's van for his DJ gear, he invites Katy out for the afternoon. Inventing a dentist appointment, she slips away. But when the van fails to start it looks like they're stranded and will miss Faye's party. That is, until Gary spots the van. Panic-stricken, Katy tries to hide but Gary sees her. Meanwhile, Chesney prepares to get down on bended knee.

Still keen to reconcile the Alahans, Sophie sets up a meeting at the Bistro. Sunita tells Dev how she regrets cheating on him, Dev admits he still loves her.

When Stella asks Jason to repair a leaking pipe in the pub cellar, he puts Tim on the job. But when Tim botches it, sending water spraying everywhere, Karl steps into help. As he takes in the scene in the cellar an idea strikes him and he redirects the flow of water onto the electrics fuse box causing chaos.

Sally's narked to find Gail's reorganised her food cupboards and complains to Sophie, unaware that Gail has overheard every word.

Izzy's stunned when Gary reveals he suspects Katy and Ryan of having an affair. Izzy orders him to do nothing while she speaks to Katy. But Gary can't contain himself and picks a fight with Ryan in the street and Chesney witnesses the scene.

Karl's plan to damage not just the pub's electrics but Stella and Jason's relationship backfires when Stella announces that Jason's giving up the building trade to work behind the bar with her!

Dev suggests to Sunita they sell the house and businesses and make a fresh start somewhere nobody knows them.

Sally's surprised to find Gail's packed her bags and is moving out, or is she? When Toni reveals the Full Monty performance is off as all the firemen have food poisoning, Eileen sets about recruiting some local replacements!

Katy desperately tries to defend herself to Chesney, assuring him she loves him and she never slept with Ryan. But when Chesney questions her feelings for Ryan she can't deny them. Katy begs for another chance.

Karl watches jealously as Stella and Jason run the Rovers by candlelight.

In the pub, Dev and Sunita announce they're back together. But when Stella warns Dev he's making a terrible mistake, Dev's rattled.

Eileen persuades Peter, Karl, Rob, Tommy, Jason and Dr. Carter to sign up for the Full Monty.

Or maybe Sunita starts the fire -

Jason doesn't take long to work out it is Karl behind his van being burnt to a crisp, and the hapless cabbie doesn't try to hide his crime from his rival, as Ryan reveals:

"He's really smug and he makes it clear it was down to him. Jason only just manages to stop himself having a go, but he checks himself in because he's made Stella a promise not to let Karl get to him."

Can you really run a pub with no electricity? Aren't the pumps electric and what about the tills?

None of the recent storylines seem to go on for more than a few weeks at the moment. Hope this isn't the case of things to come.

Maybe they don't know what is happening with Kevin yet so don't want to plan too far ahead.

He hardly has an impact on all storylines though.

I would have liked the Katy-Ryan story to have slow-burned for a little longer and allowed Katy to question her feelings more, with her and Ryan toying dangerously close to the line before Gary/Chesney overhears and it all comes out in the open.

The writers seem determined to break Chesney and Katy up sooner rather than later. I welcome the split to be honest as it might give Katy some much-needed scope of her own at last. The fact that their relationship has lasted just over two and half years is pretty impressive for a teen couple in soapland nowadays...

I'm glad the affair is going to come out. So fed up with characters having affairs, going off with other members in the street, getting pregnant. Just makes the characters look pathetic and desperate.

I'm guessing that dullagj2 did it that way round because this is a SPOILER THREAD so you have been warned by the title. The cast list takes up almost half a page and not everybody wants to have to scroll through it to get to the next post. Seems like logic to me.

So, the fire could be started by Sunita.

Coronation Street's famous Rovers Return is to go up in smoke, but speculation is rife over who actually starts the fire.

There will certainly be casualties and may well be fatalities in the blaze, so which Weatherfield resident could be driven to take such drastic action?

Landlady Stella Price and daughters Leanne and Eva will be in the most potential danger, which leads us to believe that the culprit deliberately starts the blaze.

Interesting. I thought Leanne would be working the Bistro, where the 'strip tease' takes place.

It was a sad day on the Coronation Street set on Wednesday, as the cast filmed scenes for Sunita Alahan's funeral.

Dressed in the white of Hindu tradition, Jimmi Harkishin and Zennon Ditchett - who play Sunita's husband and son on the soap opera - walked hand in hand as they watched the hearse take her coffin away.

With a floral wreath spelling out the word 'MUM', it confirmed the death of Shobna Gulati's character, and her exit from the show.
