I am looking forward to Jim's return too.

Coronation Street: Jenna Kamara's exit storyline revealed

Coronation Street's Jenna Kamara makes a low-key departure from the cobbles next week after realising that it's time to pursue a new challenge.

Jenna makes a big decision about her future following a heart-to-heart with her ex-girlfriend Sophie Webster.

Feeling positive after a pep talk from her old flame, Jenna tells her father Lloyd (Craig Charles) that it's time to do more with her life.

Jenna reveals that she wants to do some volunteer work overseas, leaving Lloyd sad as he is forced to say goodbye to his daughter.

Krissi Bohn made her first appearance as Jenna in September 2012 but filmed her final scenes in June this year after show bosses decided to write out the character.

Speaking of her departure earlier this year, the actress said: "I have enjoyed every single moment of my time on the Street. Although I am disappointed not to have my contract renewed I am thankful for all the experience I've gained and look forward to whatever the future may hold."

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, August 11 and Wednesday, August 13 on ITV.
Although not much of a big character, I wish they did more with Jenna rather than make her give up her job to be with Sophie, which was a forgettable relationship and never worked. She should of gotten a job at the new gym.

Quite disappointing, best of luck to the actress anyway.

Totally agree. I like Jenna, she was sadly underused. I'm sure they could have created more storylines for her than just "being Lloyd's daughter, coming out as a lesbian, leaving her job for Sophie, working in the caff". Why couldn't she have been more involved in the Roy/Hayley story, for instance? Why didn't they have her know something about Tina's murder - a key bit of info that she doesn't realise is key until the right moment? There's loads more they could have done with her. They could even have let her stay with Sophie, sparing us the awful Maddie.

It was a shame they let Pamela Nomvete (Mandy) go as well as she's a terrific actress; I saw her in a film about the Rwanda genocide and she was amazing.

Nick to fake a seizure - Ben Price interview
"It’s premeditated. He’s thought that the next time he gets any stress from her, he’s going to fake it," reveals the actor

Will anyone suspect he’s faking?
Leanne does pretty quickly. And then Nick tells David because he suspects something.

How does David react when Nick confesses he faked the seizure?
He’s a bit shocked that Nick has become him, really, and he’s become Nick! David tries to give him some brotherly advice because he’s been there, but Nick doesn’t want to hear it, especially from him.

Does Nick get what he wants after faking the seizure?
Yes he does, because Leanne agrees to a quick divorce and to stop stressing him with it. So he does get what he wants. That’s his game plan now - he doesn’t want her back - it’s done and he knows she’s not coming back.

Agreed. I am sure most of us would be happier if it was Sophie leaving.

If a prisoner is known to be an alcoholic, don't the prison staff deal with this in some way, as they do with drug addicts?

What's this about?
It's about the producer pushing Muddie in our face and trying to make her likeable. It doesn't wotk with me.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am getting fed up with Peter messing up all the time for the sake of being made to feel much worse. He was clean when Ken was originally going to bring Simon, but when Simon does come he has to get drunk.

Peter Barlow makes another big mistake after his son Simon agrees to visit him in prison.

Peter has been anxious to see Simon ever since he was charged with Tina McIntyre's murder, but when the opportunity finally arises, he blows his chance with more irresponsible behaviour.

Having heard that his ex-wife Leanne is bringing Simon in, Peter gets anxious and begs prison 'landlord' Jim McDonald for some alcohol to settle his nerves.

Later, after downing more of Jim's booze supply, Peter tries his best to act normally as Simon and Leanne arrive in the visiting room.

Unfortunately for Peter, a furious Leanne soon rumbles him and berates him for drinking when he knew he had to face Simon. Will Peter feel worse than ever when Leanne storms out and takes Simon home?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, August 18 at 7.30pm on ITV.

19:30

Leanne does her best to prepare Simon as they head off to visit Peter in prison. Meanwhile, Peter begs Jim for some alcohol to settle his nerves. Peter does his best to act normally as they arrive.

Andrea and Lloyd are horrified when Neil reveals he passed up the job in order to stay and win Andrea back. When Andrea then agrees to a drink with Neil so they can talk privately, Lloyd feels paranoid.

In Wales, Deirdre is underwhelmed by the primitive surroundings while Ken is in his element.

Dev offers Leanne a job in the kebab shop.

20:30

Neil becomes nostalgic while he and Andrea share a drink and tries to win her over with talk of happier family times. Lloyd's had enough and orders him to leave but he later spots Neil's car parked outside the flat.

After an unsuccessful walk in the county, Ken and Deirdre attempt to clear the air.

Leanne's furious with Peter for drinking before Simon's visit and, telling him he's blown it, she takes Simon home.

David warns Nick that his playacting must stop, has Leanne rumbled his game too?

Wednesday 20 August 2014

Suffering from alcohol withdrawal, Peter begs Jim for more booze so he does. Jim informs Peter there's a price to pay and he'll find out what it is soon. Peter promises to do whatever he wants. Jim's satisfied he's got him where he wants him. Meanwhile, Ken is shocked to see the state Peter is in and, fearing he'll drink himself to death, debates reporting him to the prison so he can get help. Tracy advises against it claiming it won't look good in court.

Neil continues to watch Andrea and ups his nuisance campaign by sending her a barrage of texts and ordering a stack of pizzas to the cab office. Steve advises Lloyd it's time to play Neil at his own game.

Eva and Kal offer Nick their support but, convinced Nick is faking his seizures, Leanne accuses Nick of hoodwinking Eva.

Sophie suggests Maddie needs another job **code for more screentime** and asks Carla about a packing job at the factory.

Friday 22 August 2014
19:30

Leanne is outraged when Kal and Eva claim she's been unfair about Nick faking his seizures. Rubbing her nose in it, Nick mocks Leanne as she sweeps up outside the kebab shop. When she lays into him in, Nick feigns a dizzy spell. Kal and Sally rush to his aid as an irate Gail confronts Leanne. Leanne's had enough and, storming into Kylie's birthday meal at the Bistro, she starts smashing bottles and demanding Nick tells the truth.

Sophie and Maddie are babysitting Amy and Simon. Fed up with Maddie giving Simon all the attention, Amy deliberately unties Eccles outside the shop. Deirdre's distraught to discover Eccles is missing and Sophie and Maddie set off in search. When they find her injured in the alleyway, Maddie rushes to the garage and gets Carla's car which she was valeting. (Who writes this manure?)

Peter begs Jim to reinstate his booze supply. Sensing his desperation, Jim agrees to supply more alcohol in exchange for a favour, he wants Peter to persuade Steve to visit him.

Lloyd and Steve think up pranks to play on Neil to teach him a lesson.

20:30

The Platts are aghast as an hysterical Leanne denounces Nick for distressing Simon with his fake seizures. Will Nick confess to his stunned family that he has indeed been lying? Alone, Nick and Leanne have a heartfelt talk. Will Nick accept that Leanne's future is with Kal and agree to a fair divorce settlement or will hostilities continue? Meanwhile, Kal's son Zeedan phones, but hangs up at the mention of Leanne.

Carla's furious to discover Maddie has taken Eccles on a mercy dash to the veterinarian in her car. Maddie grovels to Carla, explaining her good intentions.

Peter doubts he'll be able to coerce Steve into visiting Jim, but Jim refuses to give him another drink until he manages it so Peter phones Steve and begs him to come and see him in prison.

Lloyd and Steve stake out Neil's house from their car and are highly amused when a children's clown they booked knocks on his door. **facepalm**

It was supposed to be Roy Cropper's emotional final farewell to his dear wife Hayley.
But when actor David Neilson was due to scatter the ashes of Roy's late wife from Blackpool Pier, the atmosphere descended into a bit of a joke as he received a short, sharp shower from a wave that crashed over the pier.

The cast couldn't help but laugh at the unfortunate conditions when Roy, clutching the green canvas bag that carried his wife's ashes, was splashed by an almighty wave that surged over the pier.
