But when actor David Neilson was due to scatter the ashes of Roy's late wife from Blackpool Pier, the atmosphere descended into a bit of a joke as he received a short, sharp shower from a wave that crashed over the pier.

I always find it strange to see David Neilson laughing when he's dressed in character

As for the Maddie stuff it's obvious she is the producers flavour of the month. She get the Simon friendship that Tina used to have and now she's getting involved with the big characters like Tracy and Carla. It's all so forced. He's obviously modeled her on Becky but Becky growth was far more natural and she wasn't turned into a sensible and "loveable" character as soon as Maddie has

Love him.

True.
Writers, please just let Leanne be Si's Mum without involving others such as Maddeh for a storyline for her.

The Tyrone plot looks vaguely interesting- at least it's something a bit different to the shite relationship stuff we've had lately. More Madduh and Sawphie- urgh!

I think Julie and Dev could make a good couple. Maybe him getting in her bad books could be the start of that.

Looking forward to some Jim and Elizabeth scenes that week

How long was Jim's sentence? Didn't he rob a Building Society?

Just wondering when his release would be expected.

It was an attempted robbery, he didn't actually steal anything.

According to Wiki he was sentenced to 7 years in Oct 2011, for the bs robbery in March 2011.

I suppose he could expect to be out in 3.5 years, so allowing for 'time served' awaiting trial, any time from Sept/Oct this year, (always assuming the authorities don't find out about his alcohol smuggling activities).

We do know he doesn't get out of prison during his current 3 month contract though.

“Two new characters hit the cobbles

Coronation Street fans are in for a treat as two explosive new characters are set to cause fireworks on the cobbles.

Sean Ward and Oliver Farnworth will set hearts racing in the respective roles of Kylie Platt’s ex Callum and Michael Rodwell’s son Gavin. Both have a past that could really set the cat amongst the pigeons in the already fractured Platt household...
Bad-lad Callum will be played by Manchester-bred actor Sean Ward, who has already started filming his first few scenes with actress Paula Lane.

Callum is a character marked by his past misdemeanours but his good-looking charm and dark edge will be impossible to avoid.”

Lets place bets which one will become the new Corrie killer. This reminds me of when Rob came in with a recast Ryan back in 2012.

Thank you.

I wish the writers would concentrate on solid writing for current characters, or attempt to do so.

I agree, they have enough characters without introducing more only to give the Platts more storylines (don't they have enough?) Work on the current ones, especially the 9 new characters introduced in the past 9 months.

Why bother axing characters just to bring in even more to fill up the (already large) cast?

Steve isn’t keen to visit Peter in prison.

Wednesday 27th August:

Too right!

The writers should stop being so predictable and just give Kevin (who I have not missed one bit) a new girlfriend.

Can Kevin not move on, seriously. No doubt they will reunite him with Sally and poor Tim will either be shoved into the background, or demonized and axed. The writers really are lacking imagination if this is the case.

Monday Aug 25th:
19:30

Jason makes a start on Tyrone's loft conversion.

Tyrone is impressed by his friend's efforts, but as he admires Jason's work, he suddenly falls through the boarding into the bedroom below where he lies unconscious…

Meanwhile, Kylie hands David a list of jobs to do for Lily's birthday party. When Max starts playing up, David is forced to bribe him with chocolate, but this ends up smeared on Steve's campervan, which he has just bought and cleaned for the wedding company that he and Michelle are launching.

Later, with the party in full swing, Kylie and David are fraught as Max's behaviour causes utter chaos. Kylie is devastated, convinced that everyone blames her for being a useless mother.

Elsewhere, when Steph cancels their night on the town, Luke takes the opportunity to invite Katy instead. Does he have an ulterior motive?

Also today, Steve isn't keen to visit Peter in prison.

20:30

As Tyrone lies trapped under fallen debris, he regains consciousness and calls for help. Returning to the house, Jason phones an ambulance.

Tyrone is rushed to hospital while Todd and Gary survey the damage at Number 9. Gary angrily points the finger at Todd, blaming him for the accident by using sub-standard boards. Tony is horrified as he realises Jason could be in real trouble!

Meanwhile, as Kylie tries to get Max under control, Gail rushes in and announces that Lily has taken her first steps. Kylie is gutted she missed it. As Max's disruptive behaviour continues, the party comes to a close. Upset, Kylie blames herself for his behaviour.

Elsewhere, Luke and Katy's night out is put on hold when they race to help Jason lift Tyrone to safety.

Also, Michelle assures Steve that he has her blessing and should visit Peter in prison. Later, Flying Horse landlord Dean (Blackburn lookalike) comes into The Rovers and brags to Steve about how good business is in his pub. When Steve then suggests they could hammer his pub team at cricket, Dean tells him another team has pulled out of a fixture in a couple of weeks. Dean and Steve shake hands on a match, and Steve then sets about hastily putting a cricket team together!

Wednesday Aug 27th:

With Tyrone unable to work for six weeks, he and Fiz worry about how they'll manage financially.

Visiting Tyrone in hospital, a devastated Jason blames himself for the disaster and promises to help Tyrone out by claiming on his insurance. Will Todd be forced to tell Jason the truth about the accident, or will Tony force him to keep schtum?

Meanwhile, Steve visits Peter in prison. Under pressure, Peter admits that Jim put him up to it as he really wants to see Steve and Liz to put things right. Steve leaves in emotional turmoil, but how will Liz react to the news?

Elsewhere, Luke and Katy arrange a date in The Rovers. Will they finally give into their feelings, and how will Steph react to the news that her best friend is dating her brother?

Also today, Rita looks to the future.

Finally, Mary persuades Julie to join her at the gym.

Friday Aug 29th:
19:30

As Liz nervously prepares for her meeting with Jim, Peter begs for more alcohol, but Jim says he can have his reward once Liz and Steve have visited. When Liz visits alone, will Peter have his booze withheld?

Jim tells Liz how much he misses his family, but Liz points out that he only has himself to blame. As Jim tries to convince Liz that underneath she still loves him, will Liz soften?

Meanwhile, Jason frets as he blames Tony and Todd for the fact that Tyrone is in hospital and they can't claim on the insurance.

Elsewhere, Tracy runs through her diva-like wedding demands with Michelle.

Also, knowing that Steph would disapprove, Katy and Luke keep schtum about their kiss.

Finally, Julie and Mary compete to impress Dev at the gym. O...O

20:30

With Jim refusing to give Peter any more alcohol, a desperate Peter tracks down his illegal stash and drinks the lot.

When Jim finds Peter on the floor barely conscious, will he alert the guards and get him to hospital, or is Peter's life in the balance?

Meanwhile, Liz tells Steve and Michelle that Jim hasn't changed a bit and she has told him they want nothing more to do with him. Later, Steve makes some signings for his pub cricket team.

Elsewhere, Jason feels terrible as a pained Tyrone returns to the street, but Tony is adamant they can't involve the insurance company as if anyone found out they were using materials that didn't meet building regulations then Jason's business would be finished. Jason is furious and tells Tony and Todd that once they've sorted out this mess, they're both sacked. Calling at Number 11, Tony offers to make good the damage and give Tyrone £1,000 to tide him over. Will Tyrone be appeased by his offer?

Also, when Dev pays Julie a back-handed compliment, she tells him to shove his gym membership. Will he be able to win her back round?

Finally, Katy calls at the garage to tell Luke they can only be friends. Luke reluctantly agrees, but it's clear they both want more. Will they be able to resist each other?

Thanks for these dj.

Not sure why Steph should object to Luke getting it on with Katy? Or what it's got to do with her anyway.

Isn't that an incredibly dangerous thing to do? He could have a broken back, depending on how he fell, and would need to be lifted by experts.

Too Right!

Splitting up the good Sally and Tim and having her go back on what she said after the whole Molly thing would be the worst decision.

I honestly don't see that happening, if only because TPTB probably feel that Michael LeVell is basically not likely to be reliable for any length of time, so they won't risk it.

I have read suggestions of Kevin being with Julie. This could be interesting as Julie could become a sort of stepmother to his son Jack, as she is unable to have kids.
