Deja vu - when Peter begged Leanne to be with him again, on a certain Christmas Eve.

Perhaps Leanne and Simon will visit Portsmouth regularly ......

http://www.corrie.net/kabin/gazette.html

Monday 10 November 2014

Ken excitedly plans a party tea for when Peter arrives home. He's thrilled to see Simon and hands him the diary he kept in prison. Steve shakes Peter's hand and offers an awkward apology. Meanwhile, when Carla takes the factory girls to the Rovers to celebrate a new order, Peter enters and locks eyes with Carla.
Eaten up with guilt, Eileen tells Jason that as soon as Todd is discharged from hospital he's moving back home. Eileen, Jason, Julie and Sean visit Todd in hospital. Todd demands a mirror and is horrified to see the extent of his injuries. The doctor confirms it's likely he'll be scarred for life. Todd's distraught and shouts at his family to get out.

Tim is preoccupied and Sally is suspicious, convinced he's keeping something from her. Knowing Sally suspects something is going on, Tim tries to back out of his reading lesson but Anna refuses to let him, pointing out he's doing it for Faye. Tim calls in the factory with flowers for Sally and tells her how much he loves her but Sally's suspicions are heightened.

Katy announces she wants to train as a paramedic. Chesney is scathing whilst Yasmeen is supportive. Gary and Alya continue their secret relationship, making plans to meet in town.

Monday 10 November 2014

Peter pleads with Carla to give him 5 minutes and hear what he's got to say. In the Rovers back room, Peter thanks Carla for handing him a life-line. Carla makes it crystal clear she didn't do it for him but for the sake of justice. Peter is desperate and, casting dignity aside, he gets down on his knees and tearfully begs Carla to take him back.

Todd apologises for his outburst and explains how he's going to be scarred for life. Eileen confides in Jason, Julie and Sean how she feels she let Todd down and blames herself for his attack. Todd stares at his disfigured face in the mirror and breaks down.

Cilla pals up with Craig while Chesney watches with a pang of jealousy before storming out of the house. Opening up to Rita, Chesney explains how he wishes his mother had made the same effort for him as she does for Craig.

Sally, wearing a sexy dress, surprises Tim with a romantic meal. But when Tim acts shiftily, aware he should be at Anna's for his reading lesson, will Sally's suspicions grow? Kal tells Zeedan he could do much better than labouring for Tony. Gary and Alya secretly head on a date.

Wednesday 12 November 2014

Michelle calls at No.1 and hands Peter an envelope containing Carla's wedding ring. Peter's day goes from bad to worse when Steph lays into him, pointing out that had Tina never met him, she'd still be alive. Ken is later horrified to find a bottle of vodka secreted in Peter's jacket. At breaking point, Peter drops a bombshell on Ken.

With Chesney unable to babysit Joseph, Cilla steps into the breach. But as Cilla looks after him, she slips and falls, damaging her back. In pain, she heads off to the doctors leaving Joseph with Craig and Faye. Arriving home, Chesney is horrified to find his son in the care of Craig and Faye. Will he soften when Cilla returns from A&E and explains she's fractured a vertebra?

Todd returns home from hospital. Eileen, Jason and Eva fuss round him. Todd points out that if they'd always been this keen to spend time with him, he wouldn't have been attacked!

An embarrassed Tim embarks on his first reading lesson with Anna, lying to Sally, telling her he's out cleaning windows. But when Sally checks Tim's sponge and finds it bone dry, she wonders where he's really been. Kal is furious to discover Tony's not paying Zeedan minimum wage.

Friday 14 November 2014

After agreeing to rent the bookies flat to Owen, Peter calls in the pub and tells Steve and Michelle he's leaving. Michelle's glad to see the back of him whilst Steve wishes Peter well. After arranging for any rent to be paid to Leanne for Simon's maintenance, Peter breaks the news to Simon that he's moving to Portsmouth. Simon is upset and launches himself at Peter, begging him not to leave.

Alya finds Gary alone in the builder's yard. They kiss passionately until they realise to their horror that Leanne's watching and quickly break apart.

Tim arranges another reading lesson with Anna. Sally notices their hushed conversation and is immediately suspicious.

Kal confronts Tony about Zeedan's paltry wages. Zeedan is fuming and orders Kal to stay out of it. Cilla admits to Fiz and Tyrone what a dreadful mother she's been and reckons it'll be best for everyone if she moves back to Wolverhampton. Fiz insists that she's going with her to help while she recuperates. Worried they're not spending enough time together, Michelle rearranges the rotas so that she and Steve have to work together.

Friday 14 November 2014

Simon is upset, blaming himself for not believing in his own Dad's innocence and causing him to want to leave. Peter assures Simon it's not his fault. Carla finds Peter and a tearful Simon on Maxine's bench. Carla joins them and promises Simon she'll arrange for him to visit his Dad in Portsmouth whenever he wants to.

Leanne confronts Gary and Alya, demanding to know what's going on. Alya admits they're seeing each other but she doesn't want Kal to find out. Will Leanne be willing to lie to Kal and keep their secret? Meanwhile, knowing how small the bookies flat is, Izzy offers Gary her sofa. Owen and Anna secretly hope they might be getting back together.

Tim struggles on with another reading lesson but when Sally discovers Anna missing from the cafe and Tim turns up 40 minutes late for his lunch looking sheepish, Sally puts two and two together and comes up with five, convinced Tim is having an affair with Anna.

Michelle's looking forward to spending some time working with Steve. However, Steve sneaks off to the Bistro, returning drunk and late for his shift. As he heads for a lie down, Michelle is at her wit's end. Cilla and Fiz leave for Wolverhampton. Will Chesney finally forgive his mum?

Simon Gregson, who plays Steve McDonald, is said to be taking indefinite leave after being taken ill with a mystery sickness.

The star - who joined the northern soap in 1989 - isn't expected to be back on set anytime soon, according to a soap insider.

The source told The Sun: "The most important thing is Steve’s health. He’s a great guy and gives everyone a lift on set."

Father-of-two Simon was due to be heavily involved in the soap's explosive New Year storyline, but writers are frantically working to write him out of it.

The insider added: "It’s a shock that he has had to pull out, especially when his character is so heavily involved in the storyline."

The illness is said to have started after a day out with his family last month, and he's currently anxiously awaiting test results from a local hospital.

Peter getting on his knees and begging Carla is probably one of the most pathetic things I have seen. Think I will miss out this episode, Corrie are just taking the piss with crap like that.

Tracy having another boring predictable feud? Yawn, will only tune in when her sneering annoying face isn't on the screen.

Thankyou for the preview, k9fan. Can we hope that the actress playing St. Muddie has quietly been dropped, as she is not mentioned and now Anna is teaching Tim to read? (although it has not been explained why he suddenly forgot how to read and write). I am sorry that Peter is leaving; but 'going to Portsmouth' means he can come back at some time. So many people leaving, going on leave, or ill at present; it must be a nightmare for the production staff to build storylines around the actors that are still standing.

You're welcome.

Agree with the above.

Interesting that Peter tried to seduce Leanne one Christmas Eve, very temptingly, not long ago, yet grovels on his knees to Carla making himself look an idiot.

Portsmouth is a place to which Peter has travelled a few times now - what is there for him?

I still don't know if the depression storyline for Steve is a good idea. I already miss his comedy scenes and giving comedy characters serious illnesses can ruin them. I hope I'm completely wrongly though.

As Tim and Anna share a laugh in the café, Sally enters and clocks their intimacy. When Sophie and Maddie then see Tim slipping through the backdoor of Number 6 carrying a bunch of flowers, they break the news to Sally.

Inside, Anna is giving Tim his reading lesson when suddenly Sally bursts in with a face like thunder, demanding to know what is going on!

Meanwhile, as Michelle prepares for the hoedown party she is organising, it's clear that she is going to get no help from hungover Steve. Desperate to avoid Michelle, Steve sneaks back to the Bistro and guiltily orders up a cocktail. Steph is amused to see him back again.

Elsewhere, when Carla moans about how hard it is proving to find a trainee manager, Alya overhears and asks if she can apply for the job. As Alya prepares for her interview, Leanne warns her how scary Carla can be.

Also, Owen is cheered when Tony offers him some work on a warehouse conversion.

Finally, Michael and Gail head into town, back to the bar where hopefully the manageress has Gavin's contact details.

8:30

Seething with rage, Sally accuses Tim and Anna of having an affair and storms out in tears before they can explain. Tim chases after Sally but Sophie and Maddie bar his way. A furious Sally then starts lobbing Tim's possessions out of the bedroom window, shouting abuse at Anna.

In desperation, Tim shouts up to Sally, telling her that Anna has been
teaching him to read and he is embarrassed. How will Sally and Faye react to Tim's bombshell?

Meanwhile, Eileen moans to Liz and Michelle about how Steve failed to turn up for his Street Cars shift and nobody can get hold of him. Over at the Bistro, Steph is short-staffed and Steve insists on helping out behind the bar. But how will Steve explain himself when Michelle calls in the Bistro and finds him working there?

Elsewhere, Carla interviews Alya. Alya describes her passion for upmarket underwear, but then realises that Underworld aims at a much lower market and worries she has blown it. When Kal begs Carla to give Alya a chance as she'd be an asset to her business, Alya is mortified. How will Carla react?

Also, Faye confides in Craig about how miserable it is to be skint and how she is dreading moving to the poky flat above the bookies.

Finally, when Michael explains to the manageress how he is trying to find his long-lost son Gavin, she agrees to pass on his address.

Wednesday 19 November

Knowing he's in the dog house, Steve apologises to Michelle and explains that he simply fancied a change of scene. He promises it won't happen again and when he offers to help at the hoedown, Michelle thaws.

Later, when Steve spots a sports car parked at the garage, he ignores Kevin's words of caution and makes a rash decision to buy it. Calling in the Bistro, he excitedly tells Steph how he bought a sports car and insists she joins him for a spin. As Michelle prepares to set off for the hoedown, will Steve let her down again?

Meanwhile, Gail and a nervous Michael seek out Gavin's house. Nobody is in, but Gail insists Michael pushes a note through the door. Michael later gets a call from Gavin asking to meet him tomorrow. Michael is petrified. Kylie is also on edge when she receives a text from Callum suggesting they meet up. Tempted, will Kylie agree?

Elsewhere, Alya approaches Carla with trepidation. She's surprised and utterly thrilled when Carla offers her the job of trainee manager.

Also today, when Dev laments to Mary that he has been invited to a posh birthday party but has no-one to go with, Mary insists she'll be his plus one. Dev has little choice but to agree.

Finally, Tim is touched when Faye offers to teach him to read, but will Sally be so forgiving?

Friday 21 November
7:30

Michelle confides in Liz and Tony that she loves Steve to bits, but she is at the end of her tether. Desperate to save their relationship, she books a weekend in the Lakes, telling Steve they'll go in his new car and he needs to be ready for 3pm.

Liz warns Steve that if he doesn't buck his ideas up he's going to lose Michelle and he only has himself to blame. However, when Michelle finds Steve sitting in his car, showing no interest in going to the Lakes, she finally snaps and begs him to tell her what's wrong. Will Steve be able to explain his emptiness?

Meanwhile, Gavin approaches Michael and Gail in the Bistro and introduces himself.

Elsewhere, Mary drags Dev into her camper van, explaining she has suffered an allergic reaction to her false eyelash glue and will have to pull out of the party. Encouraged by Steph, Julie agrees to accompany Dev to the party and hurries home to get changed.

Also, Owen, Anna, Gary, Katy and Faye move into the bookies flat, determined to make the best of it.

Finally, pretending she's got a nail appointment, Kylie leaves David at the salon and heads off to meet Callum. He gives her some speed but refuses payment, insisting that he is the father of her child and he's here to help.

8:30

Michelle gives Steve an ultimatum - either he tells her what is wrong or she's leaving. Steve remains tongue-tied. Utterly devastated, Michelle gets out of the car and after returning to the pub, she announces that she and Steve are finished.

Lloyd and Andrea find Steve sitting in his car listening to music. They beg him to apologise to Michelle and save his relationship, but Steve is unresponsive and unable to deal with his emotions. As Michelle packs her bags, will Lloyd be able to get through to Steve?

Meanwhile, Michael apologises to Gavin for being an absent father and hopes they can get to know each other. Telling Michael he needs time to think things over, Gavin leaves. Gail does her best to comfort a deflated Michael as he waits to hear from Gavin.

Elsewhere, Dev escorts Julie to the party at a posh hotel. He introduces Julie to his golfing friend Dominic and they hit it off immediately. Dev is quietly jealous, especially when Dominic and Julie exchange phone numbers.

Also, when Kylie receives a text from Callum, she quickly deletes it without reading it.

Quote:
“The barmaid will become increasingly frustrated by her man as he becomes more and more distant from her, leaving her convinced he’s gone off her.

However, she is in the dark about Steve’s battle with depression, which he sinks further into in the lead up to the festive period.

“She can’t understand it. Every time they get a minute together he disappears.

"It’s very odd behaviour. She thinks it’s her and that he doesn’t love her any more.”

When Michelle walks out on him, she’s left even more heartbroken when he doesn’t try to make her stay.

It isn’t thought the couple will be apart for long as Steve will reach out to his ex in the New Year when his depression becomes too much to cope with.

In the meantime, she begins dating a new character called named Hamish – played by former Hollyoaks star James Redmond.”

I suppose we are meant to forget all the times she (along with Liz) talked to him like crap and made a mockery of him in front of the pub when he decided to go to college.

Wonder if we will get scenes of Steve getting a telling off because he isn't interested in taking back darling, wonderful, kind, thoughtful, intelligent, beautiful can't do no wrong Michelle, and he will be made to feel more useless because he is (apparently) punching above his weight.

Had to laugh at this part at the start of the article "CORONATION Street’s golden couple Steve McDonald and Michelle Connor are set to split by Christmas. "

Are they taking the pi$$?
