Former Coronation Street favourite Bev Unwin is to return to the cobbles after nearly a decade away, to bid farewell to her dear friend Deirdre Barlow.

Actress Susie Blake left the show in 2006, but is coming back to Weatherfield to film the heartbreaking funeral scenes, to be screened in July.

I would want to know immediately if my wife had died, not wait for someone to travel on a long journey to tell me personally.

I can sort of understand the sentiment of doing this, but I don't think I would be very happy unless I knew as soon as humanely possible of a death of someone close to me.

I'm sure people would moan that Corrie weren't doing it justice with just a phone call. I think they've got it right.

I appreciate the thoughts above but I think the main thing, for me, is that Anne's widower was okay with the story.

Show bosses recently announced that to tie in with the darkness of the shock scenes, Corrie is moving to a 9pm slot for the episodes airing daily between Monday May 25th until Friday May 29th. The special week of episodes will, as always, air between the Britain’s Got Talent live shows, making it an unmissable few days for ITV.

It would be nice if the baby was brought up by someone that actually wanted her, instead of money being the main factor seemingly.

Actress Catherine Tyldesley will resume filming on Coronation Street in July.

When asked by RadioTimes.com whether Eva would take Jason back, the actress replied: "Of course she would. She loved Jason. And that's the heartbreaking thing - they've both had a lot of tragedy in love and they've finally found each other. They're such a sweet couple. And I love working with Ryan. So I'd love to see them get back together. And it's Corrie - anything could happen."
