Kathy: I hope CS is not going to copy the ED story of Joanie, where the Inland Revenue left her penniless by collecting her husband's unpaid taxes. But, with the poor story writing at present, it could happen.

Article in the mirror about Gail Vs Eileen
k9fan
22-06-2015
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-...-look-pictures

In a spirit of honesty, Michael and Gail will be seen agreeing that there should be no more secrets between them, only for him to admit that his recent heart problems were brought on by a moment of intimacy with Eileen.
Cue a showdown at the salon (and out on the street) that sees Eileen insist that she and Michael only shared a kiss and that he really isn't her type. But such talk only fuels Gail's anger and pretty soon the two women are once again slugging it out as the Platts watch on in horror.
In her rage Gail makes some disparaging remarks about Michael, but her anger quickly turns to regret as she spots her husband, who’s heard every word. Can he forgive Gail’s behaviour or are the couple back to square one?

That all sounds great, k9fan. I hope Tracy is being arrested for starting the fire.

Over 1 million thread views.

Sally Ann Matthews should be handed a permanent deal. Brilliant actress and a character with such a rich history.

Gail v Eileen is always good value and the Platts recreating the Barlow's AA meeting should be great viewing.

Deirdre's exit looks poignant and heart rendering. There will not be a dry eye in the house.

With some encouragement from Eileen, Michael sets off to clear the air with Gail, in the hope they can salvage their marriage. As they have a heart to heart, Michael explains to Gail how much she hurt him with her web of lies. Gail begs him to give her another chance and assures him there will be no more secrets. Agreeing that honesty is the best policy, Michael admits that his recent heart do was brought on by a moment of intimacy with Eileen.

Clearly in love, Dev puts pressure on Talisa to be honest with her husband and tell him it's over for good. Meanwhile, Tracy reminds Brian about his lunch date with Julie Carp. Brian's bemused when a stranger approaches him in the Bistro explaining she'd love to travel the world with him. What is Tracy's game? Unimpressed, Brian's about to leave when he clocks Dev and Talisa deep in conversation. Seeing Dev take Talisa's hand, Brian grows suspicious. Finding Julie, Brian warns her that Dev's intentions towards Talisa might not be platonic. Suspecting Brian is right, Julie goes in search of Dev, but will she overhear more than she bargained for?

Cathy's strange behaviour continues and Roy wonders what's behind it.

Jason, Kirk and Gary arrange a poker night in the Rovers. When Dan calls in the Rovers, he invites himself to join the lads for the game.

Gail rages at Eileen. Eileen does her best to defend herself, assuring Gail they only kissed and Michael isn't really her type, but this only serves to fuel Gail's anger. Gail pursues Eileen out of the salon and the two women fight on the street. The Platts watch in horror as Gail and Eileen brawl on the cobbles. In her rage, Gail makes some disparaging remarks about Michael but her anger quickly turns to regret as she spots Michael who's heard every word.

Clearly embarrassed, Dev apologises to Talisa for misreading the signals. Julie explains to Mary how she overheard Dev declaring his love for Talisa. Over dinner, Julie confronts Dev and Talisa. Dev is mortified and begs Julie to give him another chance. When Talisa delivers a few home truths to Dev, it looks like Julie could be having the last laugh!

Carla inveigles her way into the lads' poker night, finding herself on a winning streak. She wipes the floor with the men, much to Dan's disgust. Oblivious to the contemptuous way he behaved towards Carla, Liz gets cosy with her new man.

Nick tells Carla that Erica has moved back to her Mum's and is refusing to take his calls. Carla's sympathetic.

Having spent the night with Dan, Liz is happy when Steve arrives back from Spain. Steve is pleased to see how Liz is moving on after Tony's affair but he's furious to learn that Tony owns half the pub, having conned him out of his share. Steve rants and raves about Tony's betrayal and swears Tony must not get away with it. Worried about the effect Tony's involvement in the pub is having on Steve, Liz resolves to play dirty in order to get revenge.

Unable to eat or sleep, Gail is deeply upset over Michael. Michael is also downbeat, pointing out it was only a kiss. Not wanting to provoke Gail further, he moves out of the Grimshaw's. When Andy and Steph offer Michael a roof over his head, Michael reluctantly accepts. Gail approaches Michael and, pointing out he appears to have forgiven Andy, wonders if he could find it in his heart to forgive her too.

When Brian finds out from Eileen that Julie and Dev's relationship is over, he's cocker hoop. Brian and Dev confront each other, each convinced the other isn't worthy of Julie. Overhearing their exchange, what will Julie have to say?

When David opens an official looking letter giving him the next hearing date, Kylie is upbeat and assures him they're a step closer to having Max back. Just as Roy prepares for his driving test, he gets a phone call from Cathy who's distraught, having left her handbag on the bus. Roy rides to her rescue but Cathy is mortified to discover he missed his test for her.

Liz has plans for Tony. Calling in Barlow's Buys, she suggests to Tracy that together they can knock Tony off his pedestal by reporting him to the police for handling stolen goods. But Tracy refuses to listen and Liz realises she's as guilty as Tony. However, when Liz and Michelle discover a batch of stolen goods is due to be delivered today, she's more determined than ever to get her own back. As Tracy unloads his stolen goods, the police arrive.

Brian tries again to persuade Julie to join him on his round the world trip but she studiously ignores him, leaving Brian crushed. Meanwhile, Mary tells Dev to stop wallowing in self-pity and fight to save his relationship with Julie.

When Roy gets a call from a distressed Cathy telling him the bailiffs have arrived at her house, Carla offers to drive Roy there immediately. Roy and Carla arrive to find the bailiffs in the garden. From an upstairs window, Cathy shouts at them to leave her alone.

Erica calls to see Nick and thanks him for standing by her and behaving like a true gentleman. Emotions running high, can they find a way forward for their relationship?

8:30

After stitching up Tony, Liz is hoping the police crawling all over his business will make him show his face. But when Tracy arrives in the pub having been released by the police, Liz and Michelle are shocked. Has she been charged? Under Tracy's steely gaze, Liz admits she was the one who shopped them and accuses Tracy of covering Tony's back. Having had enough, Tracy tells Todd she's leaving to visit a friend in London and when she comes back she intends to make some changes. Back at the pub, Liz introduces Leanne to Dan. Both Leanne and Dan hide their shock at seeing each other.

Dev begs Julie for a second chance but Julie's adamant she won't settle for second best and it's over. Julie then calls on Brian and drops a bombshell. Has she had second thoughts about his offer to travel the world or will she head off alone?

Roy offers to pay off the bailiffs but Cathy won't hear of it and finally lets them into her house, telling them to help themselves. Shocked at the state of the house, the bailiffs leave empty-handed promising Cathy the courts will be in touch. When Cathy reveals the inside of her house, Roy and Carla are stunned.

Nick follows Erica to her car and, telling her he still has feelings for her, begs her to give their relationship another chance.

Not necessarily. It says the bailiffs leave empty handed and Roy and Fizz are shocked at the state of the place, so perhaps she's sold everything because she has no money coming in and is living with a mattress on the floor and wooden boxes for tables and chairs. She tried to sell Roy some of her husband's cordial just to pay her allotment fees which wouldn't have been much.

The ITV soap has built a graveyard from scratch in the grounds of a stately home in Cheshire this week, ahead of filming over the coming days.

No doubt the long-running drama hopes the rural location will prevent photos emerging of the cast saying goodbye to the character, played by the late Anne Kirkbride.

However new snaps, taken on a tour prior to the estate being closed to the public, have shown the crew working on fake headstones, which have been placed in front of what appears to be a small chapel.

Corrie have also reportedly brought in professional grave diggers to make sure everything looks realistic.

This would be good, as long as we don't get predictable nonsense like David and Kylie loudly discussing their plans in the house and gobshite Bethany just so happens to be hiding in the kitchen listening and then reports to Callum, who then smirks and outs their plans.

7:30

David and Kylie make an effort to appear the perfect family unit while Callum watches on, both jealous and annoyed. While Kylie gets ready for her drug therapy session, Gemma feigns an emergency and lures Kylie round to Callum's flat. As David frets, wondering where Kylie's got to and worried she's going to miss her therapy session, Audrey reckons she's back on the drugs. Callum shows Kylie round his flat, pointing out the fabulous bedroom he's had kitted out especially for Max. Callum puts pressure on Kylie, telling her that she, Max and Lily should move in with him and they could be a proper family.

When Simon opens his birthday presents, he's disappointed that the trainers aren't the ones he wanted. Leanne is hurt and promises to change them. Meanwhile, when Leanne threatens to tell Liz the truth about Dan, he advises her to keep her mouth shut or in turn he'll tell Simon that she used to work as a prostitute.

In preparation for Deirdre's return and her 60th birthday, Ken takes delivery of a new oven. Liz suggests a surprise birthday party in the Rovers.

Roy arrives at Cathy's bearing bin bags, hoping to persuade her to start decluttering the house.

8:30

Kylie tells Callum what she thinks of his proposition. Back at the Platts', Kylie tells David about Callum's proposition. David is scathing, his distrust in Kylie resurfacing. Deeply upset, Kylie packs her things and tells David if he can't learn to trust her there's no point in continuing with their charade. Will she head back into Callum's arms or will David finally find it in his heart to forgive his wife and give their marriage another go? Meanwhile, pushing thoughts of Kylie to one side, Callum spends the evening spoiling Sarah and tells her there's no one he'd rather be with. Sarah's thrilled, unaware that she's second best.

Angry at finding herself blackmailed, Leanne has little choice but to agree to Dan's request to keep quiet. Meanwhile, Simon is disappointed when Ken presents him with a computer game he's already got, until Carla gives him the trainers he actually wanted. Simon then refuses to go for a birthday tea with Leanne, telling her that she's a useless mum and he hates her, before heading into his room. Leanne's shocked, frightened of what Simon is turning into.

Can Roy make Cathy accept that her hoarding is out of hand and she has a problem? Carla advises him to leave well enough alone but Roy is determined to help his friend.

Carla amuses herself in the cafe by online gambling. Excited at the prospect of Deirdre's return, Ken writes her a birthday card.

Wednesday 8th July 2015

Deirdre's friends pile into the Rovers for her surprise party. At No.1, Ken readies himself for the big night as Audrey tends to Tracy's hair. They're interrupted by a knock at the door. Ken is surprised to find that it's Bev but without Deirdre. Clearly upset, Bev breaks the news that Deirdre died this afternoon. Ken, Tracy and Audrey can only look at her in stunned silence as Bev explains how she passed away. In the pub, a devastated Liz and Bev break the news that Deirdre has died. Back at home, Tracy and Ken break down, unable to contemplate life without Deirdre.

When Kylie tells Sarah that Callum is taking her for a ride, and that he tried it on with her yesterday, Sarah's worried. Confronting Callum, Sarah demands to know if what Kylie said is true.

Cathy apologises to Roy and asks him if he'll return to the house with her and make a start on clearing out all the rubbish. At Cathy's house, Roy surveys the piles of mess and forms a plan. Cathy tries to share his enthusiasm.

Michael and Eileen enjoy a drink in the bistro, clearly fond of each other.

Thursday 9th July 2015 8PM

Sarah admits that Callum has dumped her and she intends to move back to Italy. Bethany is horrified and calls at Callum's flat, desperate to sort her mum's love life out so she doesn't have to return to Italy. Witnessing Gemma arrive with a delivery of drugs, Bethany suggests Callum rekindles his relationship with Sarah and in return she'll keep quiet about his line of business. Kylie persuades David that her plan to nail Callum and show Sarah his true colours is their only hope. David reluctantly agrees. Spotting Callum across the street, David and Kylie put their plan into action and stage a huge row for his benefit. Finding Callum, Kylie goes all out to convince him how unhappy she is with David and how she wishes she'd taken him up on his offer. Callum falls for her act and leads her through to the back room of the Dog and Gun. David searches in vain for Sarah, realising that time is running out. Pulling Kylie towards the sofa, Callum tells her he wants her. Wondering where on earth David has got to, Kylie tries to conceal her mounting panic.
