It also goes against what Amber says, but it could be she still is bi and just tells Sophie she's straight because of Sian. The corrie insider stuff isn't necessarily real. Papers aren't always accurate, as loads said Amber was bi. It's all a bit confusing right now.

We'll have to wait till we get the more indepth spoilers to know what it means. It could mean something platonic.

Monday 12th December
7:30
Leanne contacts the police in a bid to find Peter, who wakes up at Carla's and talks openly about his feelings before making a life-changing decision. Karl suspects Stella and Lloyd are having an affair after overhearing a conversation at the cab office, and Owen redirects Chesney's delivery of Christmas trees to the Platts' drive.
8:30
Peter returns home and tries to shock Leanne into ending their marriage by claiming he will never give up drinking, while Carla waits for him at the factory. Becky makes Lloyd an offer after Karl bars him from the pub, and Owen is furious to discover his van's tyres have been let down.

Thanks for those. Glad to see more detailed ones about Peter and Carla, and the "Morning After." Can't wait for this.. pity it's two weeks away. Just wondering, do you have a source for these spoilers? And thanks again

Must mean something else. Lots of spoilers would indicate that Amber is straight.

BIB: i must say that i don't really like the way it seems peter's being cowardly and trying to avoid telling leanne the truth. I want him to be honest! Grow a back bone.. Hopefully he will later on.

I agree. I wish he would just tell her rather than dragging it out into an affair. But he and Leanne have been together for a long time, and I think he still loves her, despite the fact he also loves Carla. And then he has Simon to think about. And then other people will be effected. And I reckon he is both scared about the consequences and also guilty, as he doesn't want to hurt Leanne.

yeah i agree. He probably doesn't want to hurt leanne and simon, but he's obviously still got her affair with nick niggling away in the back of his mind, i'd say. I don't want it to turn into a revenge thing either, as that's not what their emotional relationship has been about up to here. It would be unfair to carla if the revenge thing was the case. I doubt it will be though. Peter genuinely cares for carla following the rape and suicide attempt. But, he needs to consider leanne and simon in all this too. And telling the truth quite quickly would be the only way. I mean, imagine how they'd feel if they found out about the affair, say, this time next year - especially young simon who loves leanne as his mother figure.

Also, when it says 'carla waits for peter at the factory' it comes across quite 'vampy' like she's just sucking all the good out of their marriage. They need to be careful so as to not show carla as the evil party when she isn't.
I do have faith in the writers, though .

I know what you mean.

I've read various interviews with Chris Gascoyne, and they are very ambiguous. From reading the spoilers, I get a strong impression he does love Carla.

I think the most brilliant thing about this storyline is the way it has been played out for over a year. Most affairs seem to happen fairly quickly, but I think a lot of credit is due to the writers for making us wait, and actually taking time with this whole storyline, IMO it has made it much more exciting, and meaningful.

After everything Carla has gone through, I think it would be cruel for Peter's actions to based with revenge. I reckon revenger could be a small part of it, but I think, and hope that the real reason he does it is because he does love Carla, and care for her, and want to be with her.

I see what you mean about her 'waiting' at the factory for him. I am certainly not condoning what they are doing, and I wish they would just get together, rather than have an affair, but like I said, I think the brilliance of this storyline is that it isn't Carla being evil and just wanting to ruin Leanne's marriage. At this point in time, she loves Peter, but I reckon she isn't playing for him any longer, she'd love him to be with her, but she isn't striving for it like she was all those months ago. I think there is a lot more to their relationship than most affair's which is why this is such a watchable storyline.

Sorry for the essay

in inside soap it said something about there being a house fire on christmas day, although it didn't say who was involved but i'm guessing its becky because Katherine Kelly kept posting on twitter that she was doing lots of stunts at the moment

I think it will end in tears for all three in the longrun. I think Peter/Leanne are over, and I think Peter/Carla haven't gotten a snowballs chance in hell of lasting longterm. Too many issues for both of them to make this a successful relationship, infact I don't think Peter is capable of going more than a handful of years with any woman.

The christmas ep is meant to be cheery so I can't see a fire that episode.

BTW why are people spoiler tagging spoilers in a spoiler thread? They can be freely talked about in here.

In the new inside soap magazine in the coronation street section it says:

'It won't just be christmas puddings alight this year,as a blaze takes hold in one home!but whose festivities are set to go up in smoke this yuletide -and is tragedy in store ?"
kittykat30

That contradicts what the rest of the press has said about the christmas ep. I will wait for actual spoilers, too many conflicting reports.

To be honest, i think this so-called 'blaze' is going to be something to do with the cooking competition between rita and emily.
maybe one of them burns their food or something! lol.

yeah i think that the writers have done a great job in making sure the storyline stays interesting and true to how it's been portrayed all along. A lot of people want it to carry on, and they don't seem to be bored or anything. Affairs do become boring, but this one is very intriguing! due to the complexities of the characters and how well they've all been written and acted.

i really hope that peter is the one to eventually tell leanne, he does need to, i don't really want it coming from somebody like Anne Foster who is just a bitch

Didn't early Cheryl & Chris exit spoilers talk about a "blaze" ? which actually was Lloyd setting his sofa on fire. So untill the ep screens this "blaze" could be anything from rita burning the christmas pud to another tram crash style disaster!

yeah it could well be. However, i think if there was to be another stunt then they would have hyped it up a lot by now in order to get the viewers in.
I was sure that the cheryl/chris 'blaze' was going to be small, and i was right.

What I like (although it's slightly typical of a soap) is that Carla has/d sort of now resigned herself to the fact they are friends. Obviously the rape has shattered her confidence massively and does play a part but now peters doing all the running and on Monday Carla saiid 'it's not helping me' as if she's like genuinely trying to move forward and deals with her unrequited love herself. Interesting to see whether she believes Peter if/when he declares his feelings for her or whether he can trust him too.

And I agree that I think the blaze with be with Rita and Emily trying to flambé their puddings the most! I thought Becky left at the new year anyway?

Err...one's an actor and the other's a character? And since an actor is there to say the words given him, he may not actually know what's in line for his character.

That's one of the brilliant things about Corrie writing; plot lines occur in (more or less ) real time. An action in march has consequences in december.

Actually, I thought it was brilliant the way one poster put the cast list in a spoiler; it meant you didn't have to wade through it, both then and later, if anyone quoted an entire post.

Oh no I agree with putting the cast list in a spoiler tag, it's done that way on numerous sites to save space. But actual spoilers can be freely talked about in here, no need to spoiler tag them.
