That's what I thought as well. And going to the AA meeting is another example of her clearly trying to move on with her life. I'm guessing she doesn't mention it to Peter before he sees her there, and she's generally tried to distance herself from him lately, like in the pub on monday where she was very casual and didn't go bounding straight up to him like she might have done a few months ago. In a way Peter declaring his love for her is kind of dragging her back IMO, and as much as I do adore them together, I think to be honest maybe she'd be better without him at the moment.
I really dislike Peter for forcing Carla to play the other woman. I mean yeah, I totally understand how he doesn't want to hurt Simon and Leanne, but if he really cares about them, he wouldn't have an affair either, surely?! He really needs to chose one or the other and stick to it. I think all three of them are too vulnerable right now for anything else. I dread to think what it would do to Carla if Peter ends up hurting her again, especially as the spoilers suggest they sleep together on Christmas day. I mean that will be a massive deal for Carla, and take a huge amount of trust, and for him to then reject her would just undo all the hard work of the last few months, getting her life back.
And that's not even mentioning the impact that an affair will have on Frank's trial if it comes out...
