Having read what's due to happen in the next week, I'm convinced the writers have just said goodbye to all reality.

Not everytime but if they are going to get her together with Amber, it would be remiss of them not to show Dev reacting. Also Dev's reactions to everything are always so comedic and OTT that it probably be more laughable than serious. Amber won't be terrified of him the way that Sian was with her father. It will be a totally different dynamic.
Dev's reaction isn't about Sophie it's about Amber as a character. It's different to Sian. Amber is bisexual and Dev is already dubious about her behaviour. I think his reaction will be hilariously OTT. Infact I bet he gets the reaction I was expecting from Sally.
I'll take Amber, I like the girl. I'd like to see where things go until one or both get bored. I think those two could raise some hell together.

I would agree with you if she wasn’t instrumental in breaking up Sophie & Sian.
Especially if she manipulates Sophie to do it.
She is not going to manipulate Sophie lol. The spoilers don't say anything of the kind. Infact the spoilers are all about how Sophie is the one who wants Amber etc etc. Ambers actions aren't even mentioned after their first kiss.

True, it could well be that Amber was only mucking around with Sophie that night and she isn't interested in her beyond that. I think that however is unlikely.
If they do end up together I think Dev will blow his top. He will probably fire Sophie resulting in Sally marching over to give him hell. I can see a full scale slanging match between Dev and Sally, which Kevin turning up to threaten to punch for talking crap about his daughter. Because you know Dev will blame it all on Sophie and think that she was the one manipulating Amber.
I can't see Sophie dumping her fiancee if she isn't getting some signals back at least. But I also doubt Amber is going to go all out to steal Sophie. Sian would notice a lot sooner if that happened.

Possibly that is true but Sophie lives in her own little world sometimes and seems to see the world differently to everyone else. Still I think something will happen with her and Amber. I think it will probably be good for her character to have a girlfriend who has a stronger grounding in the show. Sophie/Sian was all about Sophie and her family, hopefully Sophie/Amber and be about BOTH of them and their families.
It automatically would be. Amber is an established character in her own right with her own stuff outside Sophie. She doesn't need to rely on Sophie for screentime like Sian did.
The problem is that Sophie has always been quite a strong character. She always stood up for what she believed in and stood up to those she considered were in the wrong. Also she was the one that pursued and got Sian to be her girlfriend.
It just seems as if this year the writers have spent most of their time making her weaker.
1st there was the breaking of her vow of celibacy. Not a problem in itself as this is probably quite normal but can be now seen as part of a pattern.
2nd there was her alcohol fuelled meltdown. Which seemed very sudden and totally out of character.
3rd there is what happened with the fake charity and what she did to her Dad’s bank account. Which shows how easy it is to manipulate her into doing things that she should not do.
So as far as I can see, from what the spoiler in the Sun says, what is going to happen is consistent with this and it looks as if Amber is going manipulate Sophie into being her girlfriend.
What I want to see is Sophie to rediscover her inner Webster and become the strong person that she should be.

Yeah because nobody could possibly decide to dump boring Sian for someone else. They must be being manipulated.
Okay people are being way too melodramatic now. Amber is not manipulating Sophie, even if she gets her drunk one night that is not manipulation it's just stupidity. That happens in october, SOPHIE then spends two months deciding she wants Amber and not Sian. It will be all Sophie's choice completely. The spoilers haven't even indicated manipulation on Ambers part. I think some people just don't want to accept Sophie will be moving on and so are trying to make Amber the sole bad guy here.
That isn't what the Sun spoilers said or what the shows insider said. They said Sophie's feeling for Amber win out. Now we haven't seen the storyline so we can't for sure say what part Amber will play but there is nothing to suggest she's forcing Sophie into anything. It even says Sophie freely kisses Amber during their second kiss and that is why she is so guilt ridden. You aren't guilt ridden unless you know YOU did something you shouldn't have. Yes, she can blame Amber for the first kiss, but not what comes after. It's apparently Sophie's letter to Amber that gets her caught by Sian, not Ambers letter

I totally don't understand what you mean here. Why is Sophie so suddenly easy to manipulate?
I'd say after being conned by James etc she would be very hard to manipulate. I can't see her willingly letting anyone puppet master her life a second time. And she will be determined to make all her own decisions for herself. Because you bet Sally and Kevin will not be supportive of two 16-year-olds gettings married, but Sophie will stick to her guns and the wedding preparations will go ahead. I don't see how her stopping the wedding will be anyless all her own doing.

Amber is well out of order if the spoilers are right and she deliberately comes onto Sophie at first. No getting around she's a selfish cow for doing that to Sian. But anything that comes after is just as much if not more Sophie's fault. It's just you can't say people won't fall in love with other people. It happens all the time on soaps.
Someone on here a couple of weeks ago said something about Sian finds a letter that Sophie has written to Amber. But I have never seen a source for that spoiler so it might not be true.
