Coronation Street bosses have edited scenes after they were deemed too similar to the death of a Stone Roses fan.

Producers have decided to remove this Friday's storyline of a body being found in a canal out of respect for the late 22-year-old's family and friends.

"The producers of Coronation Street have decided to remove this Friday's storyline of a body being found in a canal, out of respect for a young man whose death bore some similarities. "

"Like many others, we were extremely saddened by the news of his death, and our thoughts and condolences are with his family," the statement added.

Leanne and Ken are shocked when the police inform them of a body found that matches Peter's description.

However, after identifying the body at the police morgue, an emotional Ken and Leanne are relieved that the corpse does not belong to Peter.

there would have been less exposure to it if they had just carried on with the story line.. i doubt his family are interested in corrie at the moment anyway.

now all they have done is put the story in all the papers and drawn more attention to it!!

I know a lot of pepole don't like Stella but WOW!!

Having spent the night in a B&B, Peter tells Simon they're going on an adventure together. Simon's worried and tells Peter he just wants Leanne. Back on the street, Ken and Leanne report Simon missing to the police as Peter phones Carla and begs her to meet him. Carla obliges and Peter urges her to give him another chance. Carla reminds him of all the horrible things he said and points out he also tried to persuade Leanne to have him back. Peter promises it was only a desperate attempt to get Simon back and he's never stopped loving her. How will Carla react when Peter tells her his plans to flee the country with Simon?

Tyrone is cold towards Kirsty while he clears up the broken glass from her rampage. Kirsty tries to apologise for her outburst but Tyrone blanks her. Eileen tells Tommy how she heard Tyrone and Kirsty rowing and things being smashed against the wall. Tommy drags Tyrone out for a drink and tells him how Eileen heard the row. Will Tyrone confide in Tommy about Kirsty's abuse?

When Marcus offers to cook Kirk another meal of his choice, Kirk misreads the situation and thinks Marcus has got the hots for him. Kirk tells Marcus that much as he enjoyed their dinner together, he doesn't fancy him. Marcus assures Kirk he needn't worry. Marcus and Maria are highly amused.

Rob finally wins Eva round and they head off into town on a date. Anna decides to throw a barbeque to celebrate the end of Faye's bullying trauma. She persuades Gary and Izzy to come along too. At the barbeque, Izzy and Owen finally make up and Owen promises he has faith in her ability to be a good mother.

The Kirsty and Tyrone stuff looks set to be the highlight of the week. It's such a brilliant, powerful storyline and hopefully it will last for quite some time.

I agree with dullagj2 that Sylvia's return is good. And another Kev & Sal reunion looks to be on the cards!

I am confused why we were so mislead over the Gary and Izzy storyline. The spoilers etc said Gary would end up not wanting the baby. Yet he did want it, and infact wants another one after the miscarry. It seems Corrie deliberately leaked false info on the storyline for some reason. Strange.

Has Kevin definitely pulled out of buying No: 13? He said he needed to move immediately so if not No: 13 where is he going to move to immediately? Was his interest just a plot device? If so was it just to get Tracey out or to get her into Emily's?

One minute Kevin wanted the Corner shop flat then when Carl and Sunita were almost caught he didn't want it any more ... I'm confused.

Kevin only wanted to look at the shop flat he never showed any real interest. As for the house he might have pulled out. Maybe he moves back into Sally's.

They obviously wanted the house free for Kevin or someone else.

Michelle Collins has disclosed information about her Corrie character Stella Price's relationship with Karl Munro.

The actress revealed that Stella has forgiven wayward Karl for flings he had with other women before they moved to Weatherfield.

Next week, Stella and her daughters Leanne and Eva find out about Karl's affair with Sunita in an explosive scene in the Rovers Return.
