Meh, overkill. All you need to do to escape a nuclear explosion is drive 200 yards and hide behind a Jeep. I know, because that was the approved method in The Claws of Axos.

IIRC the light was described as a restoration field in the episode.

And the op forgets that the vortex manipulator was wired into the Pandorica so it's simple enough for the Doctor to re-wire so that it doesn't stasis lock him when it closes and he can pilot the Pandorica using the vortex manipulator into the exploding Tardis.

So no, no plot holes.
