This. I would like to see when they came up with the idea.
Also maybe they could clear there schedules for the entire day and have documentaries and sketches on all the Whoniverse. Maybe even dare I say it show the film. Leading all up to the 50th Anniversary special episode.

I dont know there just ideas.

Well at least you have the general idea of the thread..

Just to add to the idea you mentioned about an entire day, even if they didn't do that, they could do another Doctor Who Night. That last one consisted of sketches too with Mark Gatiss and David Walliams. Off course it'd have to be slightly different second time around but it could work.

Apart from the obvious spectacular celebratory multi-Doc episodes..

I'd like a SERIOUS weighty tome on the series from inception up to the most recent episodes they can include. This to be filled with rare photo's, interviews with everyone involved in the show, past and present. Something like the recent Star Wars coffee table book.

A top quality immersive video game with a decent plot, graphics and imagination!

A double or triple album cd with incidental music from the shows 50 year history. Obviously ALL of the original versions of the theme to be included.

That'll do for now....

They have sort of done that with the Sixties/Seventies/Eighties Volumes. What they need is an up-to-date one covering the period from the TV Movie to now.

And some more Handbooks on the New Series Doctors as well would be nice.

Yeah.
I would also like an 50th Anniversary book.
I loved the sketches on Unearthly Child especially the one with Peter Davidson.
Maybe Mark Gatiss and David Walliams could make some new sketches. I guess if BBC one cant clear there Schedules they could do it on BBC three. Maybe they could also do on one of the radio channels some of the audio stories. I am not sure how long they last. Also maybe some special edition novelisations.

That's the great thing about having BBC 3 and 4 now, they could use either channel to celebrate the anniversary whereas in the 90's it was all on BBC2. The time of year make it unlikely there'll be too much on BBC1 aside the show itself and a possible documentary. And I still have in my collection a documentary they did on Radio 2 in 1993 narrated by a certain Nick Courtney, so they could even do that as you say!

I think that BBC one show rebroadcast the pilot episode at 18:15 GMT on Saturday 23 November 2013.
