Synching iphone and ipad calendars
Lululamb

I have an ipad 2 and an iphone 4.

I use the calendar on my ipad to put everything into but would like the same things to appear on my iphone for when i don't have my pad with me.

I don't use outlook or anything like that, i just want to avoid typing the same thing into my iphone that i've already put in my ipad.

I don't want to have to pay for this either.

I'm talking about the calendar that the ipad comes with.

Can anyone help?

Personally I would synch both with Google calendar.

That's what I do. Free email, contact, and calendar OTA syncing via Google Sync

Another one for google sync you should find all the instructions you need for your iPhone here http://www.google.com/mobile/sync/

Then do the same on your iPad. You will need a gmail or google apps email dress to do this. You can use it to keep your contacts in sync as well.

The Google Sync method works brilliantly.

Just be careful when you set up not to wipe contacts on your device first! I recommend syncing contacts and calendars with iTunes before you start just in case. At the very least do an iPhone/iPad backup so you can restore if things go a bit awry.

Make sure you don't miss the step for setting up calendars with iOS devices (bottom of the page). This is more complex (in my opinion) than it should be and involves (once you have set up your Google account on the iPhone/iPad, accessing Google sync from each device and enabling the calendar(s) to sync with it.

The instructions are here should you have trouble finding them:

Note the slightly different instructions if you have a Google Apps account (Gmail with your domain name).
