New part, Congrats to Mads

Afternoon everyone

Few thoughts about last night.........I like Afia, have always done and last night you saw her vulnerability, missing her mum, her sadness knowing the real situation with both families and I really liked her scenes with Denise, lovely touches there for both of them. Denise was able to be a mum again and Afia felt a mother's touch that she so clearly needs. I also thought that Meryl looked beautiful! The close up when she was dancing was very cinematic and showed her to perfection. Very Bollywood! You never know, maybe she'll get offers there as a result.

Tamfia and Chryed have a lot in common and I hope they continue to build their close relationship as it's pretty clear they will need each other time and again. Lovely scene between Afia and Christian. I'm also pleased that EE included the casual racist remarks in the episode as unfortunately that's the kind of language that does take place. It was cleverly done because it was in the middle of an otherwise mundane scene, exactly what tends to happen in real life. Kirkwood is indeed taking EE back to its gritty, working class roots.

Loved the mehndi and I'm pretty sure that Johnny had a blast choreographing for all of them Watching it several times you can see the reactions of everyone, especially when the girls take over. You can really see when the boys stop being the characters and they just become Marc, Ricky, Charlie and Himesh interacting I hope Marc didn't bang his head at one point but I think he might have done! When everyone joined in who could tell they were all letting their hair down and just having a goold ol' dance and I'm sure the cast and crew loved it. According to Daran it was filmed the day of the royal wedding which was a bank holiday. It wouldn't surprise me if they went out together after filming.

I have to say....... the chemistry between Yusef and Zainab, wow! Feel the electricity between those two! Nina has a great husband/wife chemistry with Nitin which is great for their characters. With Ace though is a different dynamic and you can believe that their characters would end up in bed together given half a chance, something Jasood never had. I can't wait to see where it all ends!”

I quite like Afia, more so after last night, as she did come across as particularly sweet and vulnerable, I do find her a bit annoying sometimes though, and the actress can come over as a bit bland in the really emotional scenes.

BIB - Yes, when Syed says to Tam 'Hang on in there', you could feel the shared understanding, Syed had been through it too, complications over his choice of partner with regards to his family. I liked in the cafe scene, Christian saying he liked Tam, wearing the traditional dress for Syed, Tam & Afia, and then Afia's 'You're family' comment. I hope they are there for each other in the future too. They are kind of the innocents in this situation that their elders have created, but their own lives have also become/will become embroiled into the hurt and deceit.

This! Soon as the dancing started, or even before that (traditional muslim boy comment) you could see Marc & Johnny shine through. Watching Syed's original mendhi dance, I always felt like it was Marc I was watching, rather than Syed

It was funny though, even though I did feel quite bad for some of them.
Oh, yes, I find it so hard to watch! I think I was actually hiding behind my knees at one of the BGT auditions from this series.

hellooo. I caught up in time just to go to lunch

on the cringe note... I actually don't have any cringe moments this week. Which is kinda odd, as I can get squicked quite easily... yet CBA (Christian' big announcement) and the dancing is all fine by me.

but then, i don't even cringe at I kissed a girl.

I do cringe at all of Syed's mendhi though, and a lot of the wedding day scenes at the house for his wedding... his engagement party is fine though as is everytime Christian gets beaten.

Me too!! He looked so shocked!!

It was really good how the only things Christian and Zainab said to each other last night was each others names, a kind of acknowledgement of each other, both knowing it was a big step, but there's still a looong way to go...

I love the everyday tiff aspect of the cafe scene yesterday. and the 'dont ask' 'okay' and eye rolling and bad jokes. I thought Marc played it really well actually with the little looks he gave and he looked really hot in that scene too.

And I really liked Christian and Afia together. I'd love more scenes with them. They have stuff in common being 'married into' the Masood clan and I think them dealing with the family drama from that perspective together will be good to see.

I think meryl gets a hard time from people around the forums for what I think is perfectly fine acting. I'm not saying she's going to win awards for it, but she's perfectly good to me. I've never hated Afia. I actually quite like her. It's nice to see that kind of sarcastic nature in a female character on EE and I hope she does stay I like her and Tam together and I think it'll be difficult for Tam to find love if he was to lose her.

Bib: Absolutely! Tamfia and Chryed are the ones paying the consequences for the 'bonkerness' of their parents. And yet the sad thing is that their parents are the product of the strict environment they grew up with, the impossible expectations put upon them.

I found quite telling that Yusef last night said how Shameen and her family looked down on him because even though he's a doctor he was only a GP, not a consultant. Good, but not good enough.......this, coupled with everything else has shaped that man in the worse possible way.

It was very distracting I also find during 'group' scenes, I'm so frantically searching for glimpses of Chryed that I don't notice anyone else:sleep:

ETA Hey gem and anyone else arriving

I loved how Syed kisses Zainab and then he and Christian walk away together. Zainab acknowledged them as a couple without using the words 'pervert' or 'sick'! Definite progress.
