Does the remote`s mute button not mute vision box?.
Ive always used my tv or amp remote for controlling sound level. Looked thro vision leaflet & no sign of mute operation. |

If I remember right, you can enter codes to control the function of the volume and mute dependant on TV compatability, The BTV handbook gives the codes you can try for each TV manufacturer but will not cover them all. It;s a bit hit and miss, I tried it on mine a couple of years ago but couldn't find a code that worked and haven't tried since. I now use the same method as you.

You can set your BT Vision handset to operate your TV (Volume, mute, channel change) Just check out the link http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/d.../348,1155,3056

the question is not about using vision remote for tv operation.
Its about the vision mute button stopping sound at source. (Does the remote`s mute button not mute vision box?.) |

No, it doesn't - as mentioned above, the remote needs to be set up to control the mute on your TV.
I also have a TV that none of the codes work for.. |
