As previous stated I'm against all outdated geographic stereotyping, it shows a lack of common sense and naivety in my opinion, in fact I feel quite embarrassed for the people who try to use it.

You know what? On the evidence of that episode I went out and bought a Lippi Selk (for it is they) sleeping bag. And I have to say that it is honestly the warmest and most comfortable sleeping bag I've ever used. I love it!
All my hardened outdoorsy camping friends tut-tutted and said it would be cold, because you should have all your limbs in the one place, blah blah blah. But it's absolutely fantastic.
I doubt I'll be off to buy a child seat in a rucksack or a teapot-shaped lamp, but that sleeping bag gets an unequivocal thumbs up from me.

I live in the South West (in particular, a county so poor it qualified for Objective One funding, the only place in England IIRC), and people like to suggest that we all go around with wheelbarrows of money in our 24 carat Rolls Royces, due to being in "the South". When in fact there are huge differences between the West and East.

Trust me I'm not bias towards Manchester because I live there. Plus is a pretty big place. North is different to south as is to east.
I have friends from Europe who have visited and much prefer Manchester, anyway kinda going off the point really. I don't like Paris I found it rough and quite racist

?I can cope with being from the North but it seems other people feel the need to comment upon "THE North" and decide it's full of flat caps , cobbled streets and nothing worth more than 50 pence.
I don't view London as the devil's city , or paved with gold so guess again.

I think that now, most of us soft southern gits - at least those with even a hint of intelligence - refer to 'oop North' in an ironic way. It's rather making fun of the old preconceptions people had of the North.
We expect different regions to gently take the micky out of each other by exaggerating each others accents and suchlike.

I'm not the type of Northerner who can't take a joke. I like calling mancs filthy!
Most people can't even tell where i'm from due to my accent but The Apprentice does have a history of badmouthing THE North.
I remember the episode when a contestant rubbished a very successful shop in Liverpool that had been operating for over 50 years because it was "oop North"!
It's just silly and paints the contestants in a bad light.
