Did anyone else think it was a bit strange that they didn't show any footage of Jim in a plane? He was there at the airfield but not shown on film actually flying.

They showed the 3 girls squealing and laughing but nothing of him. Was it because he didn't squeal so he wasn't entertaining enough? Did he actually go up in a plane? I'm not sure by his reaction in the boardroom that he was actually thrilled by the prospect of flying lessons.

It was probably cause he didnt squeal, plus its a 1 hour show ...... do you really want to waste time showing a winners prize and showing all 4 contestants .......after the first 3 we pretty much got the idea of what the experience was like for them.

Sorry but a total non issue for me.

They show very little of the treats in the show now, so I'm not suprised he wasn't shown. It could also be they didn't send a camera guy up with him so as to save time.

He may be scared of flying. As someone who is, I certainly wouldn't want to do it. If that's the case and he didn't do it and didn't care what others thought, good for him. It's a phobia and not something you can just switch off to be a good sport.

I like how people are reading a whole bunch into this ..... maybe its just cause his flight was boring and cause its not really necessary to watch everyone do their flight ....... I'd actually rather spend more time watching them in Paris than how Jim gets on with his flying career.

Jim can probably just use his Force Powers and fly without a plane anyway

Also I do not EVER want to be in a plane with Susan at the controls. That was scary.

Well, it was the first time she'd ever flown a plane so you have to make some allowance.

I expect they got half an hour each so it wasn't a bad first attempt. (Although I was hauling back an imaginary control column when the nose wheel made momentary contact with ground first ).

So was her instructor! He looked mighty relieved to have got down in one piece!

Believe me, flying instructors do not have any doubt about getting their students down in one piece!

He has a full set of controls in front of him and can take over at any instant if there is the slightest hint of danger.

It was tongue-in-cheek, not to be taken too literally.

He was saying (as calmly as he could) "pull back, pull back, pull back!"

Jim knew he wouldn't be able to manipulate an instructor so didn't bother.

He was perfectly calm.

The amount of extra back pressure required to turn that into a text-book landing would have been tiny. Just enough to bring the nose up a fraction before it sunk (a little more slowly) onto the main gear.
