It's funny how some people can pick up on anything Susan says that may not be well judged but cannot remember salient points from the task - especially when forgetting them can allow them to question whether Susan did well.

She seems to be rather good at negotiating. She negotiated the two deals which got them the copper water tanks in the rubbish task which netted them £915. Seeing as their total income was just over a thousand, they pretty much owed that entire task to Susan's negotiating.


While it is probable they're fake orders (they usually are on this programme), the voice over told us that that small phone shop had a large online shop.

We saw Helen pitch which she did well and a large order was secured. No matter how good Helen's pitch was if Susan sitting on the child booster seat had been judged by the panel at La Redoute to have had a detrimental affect they'd have placed a much smaller order or no order at all. They didn't place an order for the teapot light and Susan wasn't assisting on that pitch.

It's conjecture that Susan's input didn't help.

About the mobile shop...I know that small shop as I used to live in Paris. Small in size, but they are everywhere. Their online business is also quite big.

It was necessary to show the product and as it's not entirely static it needed a demonstration of some sort.

I can see no reason why Susan's cheerful, chirpy, demo would have been in any way detrimental to the pitch.

They were an excellent team.

Because they'd just asked her a serious question about pricing and she ignored the question in favour of laughing about how small she is. There's no evidence that it was detrimental to the pitch, but there's definitely reason to suppose it might have been.

I thought Karren came across like a bitch, not for the first time this series.

The thing is, what Susan said had no impact at all on the task so the only reason to bring it up appeared to be to humiliate Susan.

I used to like Karren but I'm really going off her.

I thought they had made a statement about pricing and Susan took the opportunity to actually show them the product - presumably in the hope that when they saw it they might realise it was worth more. (But I only saw it once so they may have added a question. I don't doubt that someone will tell us to the second when the incident occurred. )

Karren is there to look after Lord Sugars interests.

It was right she brought it up and gave Susan a chance to defend the stupidity of her remarks.

The stone/paper/scissors thing had no real effect on the task result either. It was right that was brought up as well.

I didn't say she ruined it. I said behaving immaturely like that (in a professional situation) might have ruined it. Good grief, Susan's fans are so sensitive. Nothing can be said which might be negative for her.

Tis a very fair observation.

The same courtesy is not extended to every other candidate.

So when Karren (not Karen people) calls Susan out, rightly, for stupid comments all sorts of excuses are made for Susan and Karren is subject to a vile personal attack.

When Karren calls out Mr and Ms Rock/Paper/Scissors no one bats an eyelid.

I think some people here are challenged by strong women in business and like the little, cute, fluffy bunny types.

I wonder that if Karren had been observing the candidates in Series 5 whether she would've mentioned some of the things James said during the tasks haha.

Whether it was a statement or a question, it was a concern which needed addressing. That's what Helen did and what Susan didn't do.

Helen was there to pitch. That's what she did.

Susan was there to demonstrate. That's what she did.

Together they made an excellent team that are now the Apprentice record holder for sales.

She did nothing in that presentation apart from sit in the seat. Heidi Stephens in The Graun summed it up perfectly.
