I do think she has one - the boardroom last night proved that in places - but it's one that's skewed towards the expense of others.

Having said that, she's unbelievably f**king gorgeous and I so would.

she's seemingly perfect until the interviews come along....

I expect the porkies will be uncovered by Claude and margaret. It says on her site that she is competent in business French - so why was she speaking English to most of the buyers? Likewise, being "taught by Al Gore" was actually attending a two-day course arranged by him.

She is no team player and has a big mouth. She is selfish and generally unpleasant - she is chief female villain now.

Droning voice (though not as bad as Zoe) and painted on eyebrows aside - I would

Not really sure about her business wise - she seems to excel in the bullshine world of the public sector and quangos - how she would do in the private sector?

I noticed this. And that her French wasn't actually good (i.e. not conjugating verbs). 10/10 for effort don't get me wrong, but she wasn't as great as she made out and poor old Leon was lapping it all up like an idiot.

I agree I think she's had a sense-of-humour bypass!
In addition I think her flaws are:-

1: Definitely NOT a Team Player
2: Arrogant beyond belief
3: The most annoying accent/voice I've ever had the
misfortune to hear
4: Lacks people/communication skills
5: Probably style over substance
6: Her desire to promote herself seems to take precedence
over any business objective

Despite an impressive ability to speak French, IMO the failure of that task was almost entirely down to her need to be 'Numero Uno'. The success of this task was dependent on a coherent Team effort which she squashed almost immediately.

I also find her interpretation of Market Research rather questionable - it seemed to me that most people she spoke to supported the kids car seat/rucksack!

To be fair, Melody said beforehand in the car that she finds French easier to understand than to speak. I thought she did well on the language front.

But I wish she'd been more honest with Tom about the type of feedback people were giving her about the baby seat carrier, and to Sugar about not having researched the company Tom pitched to. Melody's deception has cost her some integrity and respect.

I've found that the French appreciate you making an initial effort in French. Then, when they realise their English is better than your French, they will switch.

Like I said, I don't knock her effort at all. And I'm not in any doubt that she is also a) a good sellar b) has her own company. However, on all fronts she makes out that she is more skilled and accomplished than she actually is.

Disagree with point four on your list. You don't generate as many over-the-phone appointments and secure as many sales as Melody did by being a poor communicator and lacking in people skills. Melody's got her faults but she's strong in that department.

This is true. Think that's the case whenever you get people speaking two different languages and as humans we naturally fall into whichever way is easiest to communicate.

For tandems I always tended to choose partners with poor English so I'd get the most benefit as we'd end up speaking their language

Haha of course. Tbh Tom needs a bit of what she's got and hopefully this week gave him the kick up the a**e he needed.

The line between confidence and arrogance is fine and the one between arrogance and self delusion is even finer.

Melody treads precariously on the latter.

Spot on.

Tom needs a bit more oomph and Melody a touch more humility.

Helen has the right balance at the moment so is the strongest contender imo.

Arrogant
Selfish
Doesn't understand the idea of teamwork
Lacks the ability to listen
Self important with an inflated ego
Economical with the truth

She will come apart at the interviews if she makes it that far.

I feel AS is setting her up for a fall.

Take your point & agree her people/communication skills are reasonably good when 'selling' (as are Jim's) - but that is only 1 element of business.
I also say 'reasonably' because she can talk for Britain, but cannot listen & 'communication' is a 2-way thing. The best salespeople listen at least as much as they talk!

Moreover, her people/communication skills when working as part of a team to develop business ideas, strategy etc. are non-existent. She is completely unable or not inclined to interact with other team members on a constructive level, because her desire to promote herself overrides everything else.

Absolument.

The odd thing was Leon seemed to think she was talking in French (maybe she opened each conversation in French but this wasn't shown).

However try starting in English and see how they resist replying to you in it.

"Do you speak English?" "Non"
"Parlez-vous Anglais?" "Bien sūr, what can we do for you"

Or "un petit pois" as Tom (I think) said. LOL

Last episode she came off as being somewhat selfish. Making the appointments for herself, making sure she got to pitch most of the sales, skewing the market research in a metro station to fit her viewpoint. And backing the wrong products in the first place. Her positives are she's not afraid to approach several different people, and she is a hard worker. But a team player? Not so much.

Her voice. She is beautiful, if you could just tape up her mouth then she would be perfect.
