I have been given a working 8gb ipod.
I do not know how old it is but it has music on it but not to my taste.
Could someone kindly guide me through what I need to do to remove the tunes already on it and put replacement music on.
In very simple terms please for a oap.

You will need to install itunes on your PC and then connect the ipod via USB lead. Hopefully it should be straightforward from there.

There is a video here to guide you through the process,

Thank you for the info, I have now transferred several cds onto the ipod.

If I get a second ipod ( for him that thinks he is in charge ) I presume I would have to remove the tunes already on the hard drive to avoid putting them into the second ipod ?

Then if I connect the first unit again to add another cd would I loose the tunes from it that were on the hard drive when I sync the ipod.

Hope I am making myself clear.

Thanks.

If you untick the "sync" options, nothing gets automatically copied/erased. You can then decide what music goes on what device.
