kindle problem

my husband's kindle has developed a strip across the top of the screen that blanks out text. he's tried re setting, and switching on and off, all that kind of thing. he'll phone the help number eventually, but wondered if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it?

I know oodles of people with a Kindle and the one person that had an issue got a replacement so fast it was scary, but fabulous service. I imagine they'll replace with no issues.

Dont even try to fix it, phone Amazon, they have a brilliant reputation for customer service when it comes to Kindles

Of course he will phone........eventually.......he's a man, seeking help is the last resort.

Seriously, as others have said, I'm sure Amazon will replace it.

I had a similar problem about 3 months ago. Noticed it when I got up at about 7 in the morning. Rang customer services straight away and got the replacement the following day.

The only snag with their replacement service is you have to arrange for the old one to be collected by DHL, which is a lot less convenient than being able to hand it in at a post office.

Replaced mine too. Next day delivery and you can arrange the collection of the faulty one with DHL on their website which is no bother.
Amazon are really good with Kindle Customer Service.

But I couldn't specify a time for when I wanted it collected. So I had to stay in. I repeat that it would have been much more convenient if I could hand it in at a Post Office, or even at a DHL depot.

You wouldn't think it would be beyond the wit of man to have the driver who delivers the replacement pick up the old one at the same time.

They used Royal Mail to deliver the new one (which is fine by me because if I'm not in I can go to the sorting office to pick it up), and DHL to collect the old one.

Yes, the Amazon replacement service is fantastic. And the bets thing is that as soon as you register and sync your new Kindle all of your books appear instantly.
