There must be some feedback, else how would Lord Sid have known about 'paper, scissor, stone'?
But I suppose its limited and perhaps the 'mini Nick' reporting back on Melody & Leon didn't appreciate the duplicity of her market research (or maybe doesn't speak French themselves)

She was awful .. This was outright lying, and sabotaging Tom's leadership. Wanting to keep appointments that she was making ON BEHALF OF THE TEAM for herself was unbelievable. She shouldn't get away with this again.

Leon made the mistake of being a gentleman and team player, although I agree he was a bit lazy.

I'm pretty confident they don't look at the footage, and I'm also pretty confident that other people on the production team report back. They already have to make some judgements over what is significant, and decide questions for the interviews to camera, so they must have an understanding of what's going on. They aren't filming passively.

It bothers me that we don't know the quality of the feedback Lord Sugar gets. I believe his lack of knowledge explains some of his more surprising choices.

How Melody escaped anyone’s wrath considering how she put her language skills to her own good use is bewildering.

Melody impressed when she walked with world leaders but she’s veered off down her own footpath having forgotten more of the Dalai Lama‘s teachings than she’s remembered. “Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.”

Because Tom said they flipped a coin in the boardroom and Karren pulled him up on it later.

Yes, that was the point.

They did that in the car so someone must have grassed them up to 'the board'.

It was clear that they already knew what happened because they kept on at Tom until he spilled the details.

Tom brought it up in the boardroom himself though. When LS asked them how the pitch went he said that on the way there, he & Natasha flipped a coin.

Yes but didn't Sugar then have to press him (twice IIRC) before he told them that they actually played RPS. I got the distinct impression that Sugar was well aware of what happened but had to winkle it out of Tom before he could act incredulous.

Nope. Karren asked him later if he took it seriously because he said he flipped a coin, Tom said he did an equivelant and Karren asked what it was.

As much as i don't like Melody, she did make a good point about the chair, when she said, why would anybody want to carry a babys car chair around in a backpack?.

It is not a baby's car seat. It converts into a booster seat for child. So useful when renting a car on holiday or when the child is not going home in the same car. Melody showed no imagination or understanding.

I agree.

While not lighting up the universe, the booster seat was a nice idea, and for those with kids it would be useful if hiring a car.

As Micky Flanaghan pointed out on "You're fired" - until you have kids you can't see the point in these kiddy releated products, once you do have them they become "must haves" over everything else.
Tom had worked on child related products and so could see how it would appeal - but he totally failed to communicate this to the rest of the team - not only Melody and Leon, but Natasha as well.
It was also his failing to let the Paris subteam dictate product selection so forceably - as they hadn't seen the products! It was quite funny that when Melody and Leon finally got to see the teapot they were mightily unimpressed

^^ Agreed, Shrike. It wasn't Melody's fault she didn't understand when it was explained so poorly.

You obviously missed the last part of the show. The bit where they announced the sales to LeRedoute.

I thought it was a good product. You could be out and about with your child, and you decide pop into a cafe. Use the booster chair for your child to sit on an adult chair. It could be useful in a train too as a typical train seat can be too big for the child.

I loathe Melody in this episode. She was manipulative with her translations too. One woman thought the booster seat wasn't a bad idea and Melody implied to her partner that the woman wasn't keen on the booster-seat idea. That wasn't what the woman said!

Tom isn't a natural leader. He's a thinker with great instincts and common sense, but he doesn't seem to have the confidence to put his foot down. I don't have kids, but even I could see the potential in that seat product. Tom seemed more concerned about his team members' motivation than going with his instinct. I felt he made a mistake with that approach. A good salesperson can sell anything, regardless whether the salesperson has faith in it or not.

Either way, Melody was disrespectful and shockingly selfish. I was really shocked when she refused to let the others have the appointments she made. If I were there, I'd have given her a gun and tell her to shoot at her foot because that's what she did. I detested her smirks and self-righteous smugness in the board room. I like ambitious people, but not at expense of their teams.

Melody seems to have changed her mind about her own method of 'market research' from "no-one drives in France according to the results of my market research" to "if 10 people out of millions didn't like my product, so what"

She quite clearly sees market research as pointless and thinks her own opinion matters more than anyone elses since she's shown she just doesn't listen to anybody else.
