Following an earlier mention of Craganour's disqualification in the 1913 Derby, a dishonourable mention for the ringer Maccabeus. This animal ran in the 1844 race and finished 1st. However Maccabeus was a 4 year old racing as Running Rein, and when this was discovered the race was awarded to Orlando.

Craganour and 'Running Rein' are the only two horses to be disqualified in this event.

Many years ago, Weatherby's name registration 'system' allowed an owner to call his horse Selosra.

Then someone pointed out to them that, when read backwards, this name wasn't entirely the kind they would normally permit.

Perhaps the optimistic thinking was you'd only see the back of the horse

Quite possibly, TC.

Voetsek was another name that slipped through the net in the 1970s.

It means 'f*** off' in Afrikaans.

Can I do two at once here, simply because I'm entertained by the idea of a race commentator describing a close finish between Amazing Bust and Big Tits.
