Impek - 2m chaser trained by Henrietta Knight, best effort probably a 1l second to Azertyuiop in the 2003 Arkle Trophy.

Kent, Derek - trained several good horses in the 1970s the best of which was chaser Grand Canyon who, late in that decade, broke 5 course records in 5 consecutive races.

If I remember correctly, he was a grey New Zealand horse who went on to do duty at Buckingham Palace....or am I thinking of another horse.

(personally I think they should declare odds based on the bet required to return 100

eg
evens = 50
4 to 1 = 20
4/6 = 60

that way you would just add the odds to get the total overround.

There's a good chance Grand Canyon was NZ bred - a fair few of Kent's horses were sourced from that country. As for Buckingham Palace I really cannot say.

Suluk - 18 victories at Southwell between 1990 & 1993 give Suluk the post-war record for the greatest number of wins over hurdles by a horse at the same track.

Any idea as to how many horses died over the four days ?
I saw that 5 had been put down in the first two days .
