Quorum - sire of Red Rum and classy miler, finished second behind Crepello in the 1957 2,000 Guineas and won the Sussex Stakes in the same year.
Stubbs, George (again) - in addition to the artist's famous and previously mentioned painting of Gimcrack, among many others he did was this one of Eclipse.
I wonder if docking a horse's tail was common practice in the late 18th century.
Anyway the stirrups are set too long, the horse has a bandaged rear leg and the jockey looks drunk, so I reckon Eclipse is a definite lay next time out .
