Chapman, Clive - jumps jockey of the 1950s & 1960s who had a less than stellar career but became oddly famous as the jockey in the 1970s Hamlet cigar advert.

This was filmed at Kempton Park and the horse's name is unknown to me but apparently it wasn't a thoroughbred.

M for my surname which, whilst living in France, had its account with another bookmaker closed on the grounds that bookie betting was illegal in France (Parimutuel only). I'd had the account for around two years and the fact I'd had a good winning streak for weeks had nothing to do with the account closure.

Pearlyman. Twice a winner of the Queen Mother Champion Chase in 87 and 88 and had Dessie behind him on both occasions, he was an absolutely top class 2 miler despite serious front leg problems and is not really given the plaudits he deserves.

Quorum - sire of Red Rum and classy miler, finished second behind Crepello in the 1957 2,000 Guineas and won the Sussex Stakes in the same year.

Stubbs, George (again) - in addition to the artist's famous and previously mentioned painting of Gimcrack, among many others he did was this one of Eclipse.

I wonder if docking a horse's tail was common practice in the late 18th century.

Anyway the stirrups are set too long, the horse has a bandaged rear leg and the jockey looks drunk, so I reckon Eclipse is a definite lay next time out .
