What happened to the posters in this thread? It's not that they just don't post in here, they don't seem to post in Soaps at all anymore.

We all started posting because we were excited for Kats return but I think the majority of us are no longer Kat fans after her disastrous return I still adore Kat Slater 00-05 but i'd much rather they'd left her in the past and not ruined such an iconic character

You just have to hope that a new EP will sort her out, like they did Bianca and Janine - I mean if you look around the forum now, would you remember that two years ago people hated Janine and Bianca being back? They're probably two of the most popular characters now, same can happen with Kat.

I loved Kat and Alfie, still do but they are getting really annoying. They are just going round in circles and it's getting boring. I still have hope Kat will be Kat again. I think the EP has ran out of ideas for them.

Just been thinking if the writers are hell bent on Kat having yet another affair David Wicks would be a much better candidate than one of the Moon brothers! It could also make for some interesting viewing! Even though Kat will be hated beyond belief!!!

David is off again soon though.

If she has an affair with anyone, it'll probably be that great beacon of charisma that is Jack Branning. :sleep:

This. Sorry but I cant stand the character I miss Kat Slater. Not sure I can or like this Kat Moon. I do not like watching a woman become an abuser not interested in it at all.

It's ridiculous how dead it is in here What makes it worse is that I think Kat was somewhat improving around Christmas because that is when I think the Baby-sway would have originally ended and clearly the storylines we were getting where the same ones we'd have gotten if the story had went ahead.

I hope Alfie and Roxy get together to be honest, maybe this will make Kat see how bad she's been and try to be a better person.

Not much to say about the state of Kalfie to be fair and not loving the fact a) Alfie and Roxy are getting closer and b) people seem to be loving it and prefering them to Kalfie. It is NOT okay for people to love Alfie more than Kat man! Sooo wrong!

Let's just hold out some hope the writers have a little think whilst Kat's away and recover some brain cells and memories and are able to actually write her again rather than the intruder we've had the past year or so.

oh it's "Rolfie" now is it...

just sick of seeing Kat being completely slated all over the forums for the sake of some bad storylining/writing followed by an unscheduled break. Alfie is now some sort of happy go lucky guy that's not being dragged down by his 'miserable' wife (in other words with Kat not being there they have allowed him to interact with other characters, which they never let her do - being friends with Kim does not a Queen Vic landlady make!) Oh and the one hug and blossoming friendship between him and Roxy makes them a perfect match as she would treat him right (you know with her track record!?) At least he kissed Little Mo ZZzzzz... sorry fell asleep there just thinking about it.
Oh and another thing, why do people seem to think that Sharon is back because Kat has 'left' and they should only bring her back after Sharon has left because they cant realistically exist in the square together (like they did for pretty much 4 years!)

I haven’t posted on here in ages but I feel I need to add to this whole stupid thing brewing between Alfie & Roxy and yes Jestar I agree with you. I just hope they're making the story bigger than it is but to be honest I really wouldn’t put anything past BK :sleep: . The sad thing is this will all happen while Kat’s away nursing her sick Dad yet Alfie is still been portrayed as a Saint and people are cheering him on for getting with Roxy. What they don’t see is this is adultery plain and simple and in what way is adultery acceptable? Not to mention Roxy will be a home wrecker, not that it will bother her – any man is game for her, married, single or gay it doesn’t matter as long as they give her attention Some are saying this gives Kat a taste of her own medicine but how will him having a full blown affair with Roxy give Kat a taste of her own medicine? Yes Kat has cheated on Alfie but she never not once had an affair that carried on behind his back, she was always open and honest about what she’d done and it was always a one off. When Kat went with that Roger bloke in 04 it was because she was at such a low point, she felt rejected and she was drunk but she was open with it. As for Michael well she had a slip of insanity and to both Kat and Alfie they had split up so technically she didn't cheat. As for that minger in the alley there are no excuses there for her behaviour but did she go back for more - no and she told Alfie and he said they were to have an open marriage So in over 8 years of marriage Kat has technically only cheated twice and he knows about this.

Whereas Alfie had an affair with her sister no matter how you dress it up it was an affair - no it wasn’t sexual but it was emotional where he told her he loved her and this lasted for months. Then when Kat returned to the Square he then played them off against one another while still giving Kat false hope that they were getting their marriage on track but behind her back he was romancing her sister. And the only reason it didn’t become sexual was because Mo was not ready after been raped if it wasn’t for that then it would have been both sexual and emotional. Yet does Kat ever bring this up or throw him back at him - no she doesn't to her it's left in the past (although I think EE have erased this from their memories and I wish I could do the same) However with Roxy it will be by the sounds of it be both an emotional and sexual affair and all under the same roof as Kat’s family and no doubt in the marital bed – something Kat would never do to Alfie, yet we all know Roxy has no morals so it won't bother her to do this to Kat. As for Alfie well he will only be thinking about one thing.

No Kat is not perfect and yes she has been portrayed as a miserable cow since her return and some say she abuses Alfie but no woman deserves this done to her especially while she is off nursing her ill father. This will probably prove her point that Alfie does not love her as much as she loves him but I hope it gives Kat her fight and spark back and not make her even more of a miserable tragic character which Kat has never been until BK’s reign. And in amongst all this we have Baby Tommy, as Alfie ‘isn’t’ Tommy’s biological Dad he will have no rights to access to see him. Kat could be complete cow here and stop him seeing him and then even more darts would be thrown at her saying she deserves even more misery heaped upon her. Yet on the other hand she could let him see Tommy but I bet even then Kat will still be in the wrong, she just can’t do no right with the public anymore and this storyline will show how much damage has been done to her character .

What I think should be done is Kat leaving the Vic with Mo, Jean and Tommy (Shenice will probably stay with Alfie) and we then see Kat pick up her life away from him, maybe get back a market stall or something and the viewers learn to love her once more. Then between her and Alfie once the storm has passed and her anger eased we see a friendship form and build and we see all that UST that’s been missing since their return. And there was a hint a while ago in a soap mag about them having the most passionate affair in Soap history, this way we get back the couple we know and love. This could be worth it if we have to endure Alfie getting it on with Roxy, I just hope he doesn’t get her pregnant because that could be the final straw for whatever magic there is between them. There is speculation in the mags that Alfie will get Roxy pregnant and Kat will find out later in the summer. I am worried about this as Kat did say to Alfie after the miscarriage that he had to go find someone else and have a baby with her if he wanted a child so this could have been a hint at what was to come. Although no doubt once Roxy gets bored with playing with Alfie (which she will - she always does) she will move on and no doubt Alfie will go crawling back to Kat like he did after the Molfie reveal.

I just hope and pray now BK is leaving that the much needed changes will be made to Kat’s character and the the acting EP Lorraine Newman has been with EE since 2000 she has been a Series Producer and was a Script Producer when John Yorke was in charge, so if anyone should know Kat's character and help give us back the Kat and we know and love it could be her - so fingers crossed she helps give us the changes we so desperately need.

Hadn't even watched Tuesdays ep when I ranted earlier. Spent the whole kitchen scene with my mouth wide open completely speechless Oh and what's up with Alfie Poppins all of a sudden! Can't wait til Jessie gets back to (fingers crossed) better scripting, storylining and something she can actually rise to...she is BAFTA nominated after all.

Exactly, I completely agree - and I hated that kitchen scene too. Alfie’s whole attitude in EE on Tuesday was just awful – first he compliments Roxy calling her beautiful and playing happy families with her and then he’s offering her Kat’s job – it’s as if he is replacing her already. With Roxy you can see she is feeling something like when he called her beautiful, she loves male attention and Alfie is giving her a lot of it at the moment and she is lapping it up. Also with Alfie when he was talking about Kat it was like he wasn’t bothered about her anymore and seemed to be having a slight dig at her still been away caring for her sick Dad. And nothing has stopped Alfie going to see Kat and Tommy but to me it seems as if he doesn’t care anymore – I know Kat has been a hard faced, miserable cow over the past year but if he doesn’t want to be with her anymore he should just be honest with her. Then again been honest has always been Alfie’s problem – you only have to look at the way he led Kat on during the whole Molfie business and I really do not want a repeat of that again.

I watched a couple of old episodes of EE last night when Kat and Alfie were just mates and it really does seems like EE is trying to re-do the whole Kat / Alfie thing but using Alfie with Roxy instead as they are friends who are playful, flirty and there for each other. If EE are intent on going down this route I would prefer Kat and Alfie to split up and then let him go off and be with Roxy. I never thought it possible but I wouldn’t mind Kat and Alfie splitting purely because this could be the best way possible to give us back the Kat we know and love. Take her away from the Vic, place her back in no23 with her family and let Jessie get her teeth into proper storylines reminding us why she’s so good and what made her an EE icon in the first place. What we do not need is her continuing to be a miserable, nagging wife stuck in the Vic or out shagging about with mingers behind her husband’s back. This was not the Kat we know but the one BK created and I hope that when Jessie returns from her break we are given back the Kat we know and love and fingers crossed this new EP gives us that.

I will watch your video later, I miss the Tony Jordan days and the Kat from that era but let's hope this new acting EP who worked with Tony makes these much needed changes to Kat's character.

I don't really know how to word it but basically Alfie's return has been a success cause he's a one dimensional character really so he's not exactly difficult to write for. Kat's return has been a MASSIVE failure because in the day she was a rich, three dimensional warm, caring character and was written that way. These days the writers are abysmal when it comes to writing her

And that poster who is going on about how "Kat" has no "acting skills" and is just "depressed 24/7". Do these people not understand that is how she is being written! It's not Jessie's fault her character is shit at the moment. And whoever thinks Rita is a better actress needs shooting. If you believe that, just go and check out any scenes from 2000-2005 and Jessie will continually act her off the screen.

Anyway, I really believe Kat will be back in full swing when she returns.

Nope me neither. I'm hoping the new EP completely culls this writing staff and brings in fresh new ones. Keeping my fingers crossed. We won't see any kind of change though till at least August
