You can on the Touch, which is not far from being an iPhone without the Phone bit

This depends on how you are downloading e-mails onto the two devices.

The e-mails arrive in a mailbox on Google's servers that your Touch and desktop both look at and download copies of the e-mails from onto their own hard drives. So the server always has the original copy of the e-mail.

If you use the POP e-mail protocol then all that happens is that the e-mails are downloaded. If you delete an e-mail from the Touch or the Desktop nothing happens to the copy on the server or the other device.

But if you use the IMAP protocol on both devices then things change. If you now delete an e-mail on the Touch (say) it sends a message back to the server to flag the e-mail as deleted. The desktop sees that flag and should then delete it's copy of the e-mail.

So check your settings and see if they are POP and if so change to IMAP on both and see if that works.

If you want to lock the orientation of the screen when tipping/rotating the ipod touch up to the left or right..

1. Double-click the home button
2. The task bar appears, scroll the taskbar to the right,
3. Some music icons and the orientation lock icon appear. (it's got the arrow around it)
4. click the "portrait orientation" button. When the lock icon is shown the orientation of your screen is locked.

Many thanks for that.

That has worked.
