More Info on 3:

1.2 million Subscribers (8 months behind target)
Subsciber Acquisition Costs Between £170.15 - £201.88
Average Revenue Per User £43.22 per month or £518.64 per year
64% Contract Customers
36% Pre Paid Customers

Whilst this may initally look good for 3 I havent been able to find any meantion of their churn levels (people leaving after 1 year probably wanted to hide that bit from investors!) T-Mobile have about 2-3% I expect 3 will have very considerably more than this.

Also you have to consider the massive debts for their parent company (3G licences and setting up the networks) Earnings Before Depreciation and Amortisation for the first six months of the year show a loss of $532.5Million. Throw in interest, depreciation etc. and the headline loss is a whoping $1.437Billion. A pile of debt even Hutchinson may find hard to swallow!

Agreed. I too was looking through the figures to determine how many customers they have lost as most people I know that have used 3 have a very low opinion of them and there are also an awful lot of negative posts on this forum.

people dissing 3 is like Freeview vs. Top-Up TV...

getting very old, VERY fast...

if you dont like them, dont post in threads where the topic isn't even what the network is like, you only need to post your opinions ONCE and ONCE only

*applauds Ben*

I'm with 3...with the minor exception of their CS not knowing the website for accessories from themselves, I've never had a problem. Each experience to its own though.

I think 3 lately has been losing signal a lot and when you access the triangle key services it sometimes loses connection, i might (when i have enough money) buy a brand new T-Mobile Phone for my T-Mobile sim card to replace it but other than that its a great phone for the money the e313.

Theres something im not understanding about people complaining about the 3 signal - if it goes out of the 3 service area, doesnt it switch to O2 for normal calls and texts? Im sure not everyone uses the video service solely for calling people

Yes, if you're out of 3's service area your phone will use O2. The main problems are that:

a) if you're on a call when it switches from 3 to O2 or vice versa, your call will drop, as there is no way to hand it over from one network to the other.

b) even in areas with a great 3 signal (such as where I live) the network seems to drop calls quite often for no apparent reason (even if you're not moving while on the call).

They would probably let you have a refund or hopefully offer you a 7600 for no extra cost to keep your custom but i doubt it lol

i'd be shocked if they did offer me a 7600, but has that ever happened?

Not that i know of unfortunately I was thinking of buying the 7600 for £149.99 out of the superdrug 3 shop to replace the e313 but i'm unsure as i need another phone for my T-Mobile sim card as i have to share my C100 with my Virgin and T-Mobile. Has anyone used the 7600 and is it worth the money?

i think a refund or replacement (of other model but not 7600) are the two most likely options...

The E228 could be a replacement option.

i dont think i'll have a replacement, i'm getting settled in with Orange now because most of my family are on them, apart from my parents and my brother (who are on Vodafone) and one of my uncles (Tesco Mobile)

I am on 3 and not happy with the phone service or customer service, they are very unhelpful. I keep getting calls disconnected for no reason while talking on the phone even though I am in a 3 service area and have full coverage. Accessing the content takes about 3 or 4 attempts before it loads. The goal alerts I have setup for my local side Cambridge I keep getting ones for Macclesfield and the video for the football is so unclear, its all blocky and unable to see anything on the screen. Total waste of time, I would never recommend it to anyone. I am 3 months in and still awaiting for them to sort out my email which I cannot setup from my phone. Customer services say oh well you will just have to wait till your contract runs out, no offer of a reduced package. I will not be staying with them once my contract runs out, all the other phone providers I have been with, Orange and Virgin are way better for customer service.

I have the same problems with the triangle key services loading up and signal etc. I have T-Mobile and Virgin as well and agree with the crap customer service. Why don't they get people who understand our language clearly and can be more helpful??

Cos it costs more to employ Customer Service Reps in the UK. You dont get thoese cheap tarrifs without corners being cut somewhere.
