I'm trying to get my music from the ipod into itunes library. So far i have been tools folder options and view tab to show hidden files. I'm still not seeing the ipod hidden files. Can someone help me please.

I am running windows 7

My ipod just keeps showing up as internal storage and only pictures are showing even though i have hidden files showing.

It is specifically designed not to show the music, unless you have it set to hard disk mode.

If you need to get the tracks off your iPod then you will need to use something like media monkey

The music isn't easily identifiable you'll have folders called say F001 etc that's where your music is

I've done some checking on google and it looks like you can't get the music hidden file folder for the ipod touch which is a shame. Thank you all for your help.

I'm sure rummaging around with WinSCP or similar SSH connection to a jailbroken iPod touch could transfer the music files back from it, but I treat music going onto it as a one-way street, rather like photos or anything else handled by iTunes, as it may well rename files etc using a proprietary standard meaningless to anything else. The files will still contain the tags with info about them so it will be possible to automatically get them back with 3rd party software, but that's a lot of unnecessary hassle.

If you didn't use the iTunes store to get the music originally, you're better off just getting it again from wherever you got it from originally.
