I wouldn't object. I think what truely makes a multi-faceted complex character, is one who is able to convey various sides to thier personality. Dennis Rickman did this. Kat once did this. Zainab currently does this.

Micheal, I believe isn't evil but does show signs of machavillian behaviour. It's not so much that I need to see his 'softer side' but see what makes him tick and see where this bitterness stems from. I do think John P can be quite interesting at times but other times he can come off quite panto and a bit of a clique. Kirkwood needs to build his character so that he is own person. He has got to be original and different. I don't want to see a bad boy with a soft side. It's been done.

How about Michael realising that all he wants from his dad is to feel loved?

A bit predictable. I hope it's more than that.

We need Michael to stay unbalanced to some degree, as he was rather boring as just another jack-the-lad sex symbol type, as seen when he first arrived and not many people could stand him (myself included )

Yep, that's the key. Also why hadn't he and his dad spoken for five years before Eddie came to the Square?

I hope we get to find out before Eddie leaves. There must be another big showdown between them before then when Michael reveals his true feelings for his dad.

After tonight's episode, I'm bringing this thread into discussion again.

He's so complex! We saw one minute of the real Michael - the scared little boy who wonders why his mum didn't love him - this is what has made him how he is

He is a younger version - without the appended paedophilia - of Archie Mitchell. Different side of the same coin.

Good idea Sez. I'd say that what makes Michael different than your average nasty is that he does have these flashes of insight. I'd say that there is a degree of self loathing and a strong belief that he can neither love or be loved.

Yep! This is why he never sees Tommy, he doesn't think he should be able to love anyone.

I'd like a book of Michael Moon quotes! He comes out with some real gems.
I liked it when he was in the gym office, and he made a speech about the smell of sweat and dirt!!!!
Classic.

Haha good idea

I liked when Tyler was in hospital and Michael thought he had died but Eddie said he hadn't, and Michael said, "What you looking like that for then? All pale and ill" in such a bitter and angry way it was creepy. Eddie and Craig need to return, there was a lot of story left in their relationship with Michael.

I'm confused by Michael, one minute I hate him, then the next I feel sorry for him and like him, he is the only character that makes me feel like that.

He is very complex and there is also a sense of mystery to him, a lot like Dennis Rickman.
