Chelsea rated 1m lower than expectations last night, nobody scored a 5. The game starts to get into its stride tonight.

I scored a 5er for the Chelsea match .

Chelsea group matches generally haven't rated well in the past. The two previous Chelsea UCL Group matches shown on ITV have rated as follows:

3/11/10- Chelsea v Moscow: 3.7m
21/10/09- Chelsea v Athletico Madrid: 4.2m

Valencia are probably a bigger side than those two opponents but given the forecasted weather and the fact Valencia v Man Utd (a bigger ratings side than Chelsea) averaged 4.6m this time last year, I had a feeling last night's match would rate at around the 4m mark, like the previous two Chelsea group matches.

Ah okay, I could only see the visible predictions on the thread - well predicted, I would never expected it to drop so low for a Sept 28 fixture with a top English team playing.

Yeah, I can see why people would think they'd be high raters, but Chelsea and Arsenal aren't big ratings draws in the group stages usually, with ratings having been even lower in the past for group matches involving these teams. From the last couple of years, the two Arsenal group matches shown on ITV1 have rated:

15/9/10: Arsenal v Braga: 3.9m
9/12/09: Arsenal v Olympiacos: 3.2m

The Champions League doesn't really get going with the big figures until after Christmas. Man Utd and Liverpool usually do pretty well (around 4.5m+) pre-Xmas, but the other clubs not so much unless it's a big must-win final-match-of-the-group game.

I hadn't realised Outnumbered had switched nights, so it was down slightly. Shirley rated as expected, a decent rating for Tottenham on 5, I went a little low for it. Looking forward to an update later.

20 main points available tonight with DCI Banks, Big Brother: Live Eviction, Strictly Come Dancing *SPECIAL** and Ultimate Police Interceptors as back-up. 10 points would be the target I suppose.

Poor night last night - SCD well down, the clash hit DCI Banks also. BB low again, 5 points from 20 I believe.

I hope predictions improve tonight - 500 season total looks unlikely though.

Overall: Top 4 Update

The current leader of Season 15 with 558 points is: Andy Parish.

* Wow, just two points in it now. Andy Parish still hanging on in there. This is going to go right down to the wire!
* There's a decent range of predictions tonight (see below), especially for The X Factor. rzt has taken a few risks that may or may not pay off.
* Roscoe Barnes has tended to go on the low side which could also be helpful given the weather and what happened last night.
* It's almost impossible for Georged123 to retain his season title now. He needs to get TXF, DW and Merlin spot on to equal Andy Parish's score which would require a near miracle!
* But whatever happens each of the above players in particular can be really proud of their performances this season - well done!
* I like that our top 4 have tried to cover every realistic base with Doctor Who. If the weather was more normal I'd say a 10er was pretty much guaranteed, but tonight I'm not so sure.

TXF was down yet again, as expected for Merlin launch, Dr Who finale caught me out - hence the surge in viewers. A decent figure for the England Rugby too much after show filler damaged the match average. I do believe this will not be my worst week - but well down on my best efforts. Hoping to pick up a few points for Star Trek tonight.

Roll on the next season.

* A day early I know, but I might as well say a big congratulations to Andy Parish, who is now certain to become the new DSRPG champion tomorrow!
* As you'll see below, even if Roscoe Barnes was to score a 5er for the last remaining show, it wouldn't be enough.
* 3rd place however is still to be decided after a late rally from Georged123 today.
