She knows her stuff but I get the impression she'd murder her family if there was a promotion in it for her. Theres being driven, but then theres just obsessive and trodding on anyone to get there.

I suspect that too.

Just for the record, Melody's current business is motivational speaking and she is not successful at it because there are too many others that do it (she still lives in a student bedsit and is trying to flog her services to anyone with an email address).
It is a major flaw in business not to listen to either your team or your customers opinions. She was quite happy to flog a lie to Tom last week and he said at the time that he would be a fool to go against the market research. When she had a panel of opinions infront of her she couldn't wait to disguard them!
She is not able to put her own ideas to one side and embrace the ideas/input from others. For this reason alone she will never be a good business woman (and her people skills are awful too)

I think Melody is hilarious entertainment and can imagine that she will be seen on TV for several years to come following this series. Yes she is annoying, loud, uncontrollable and up herself but she is good TV. So is Tom for quite different reasons. I found last night's programme the funniest yet and am glad "the characters" are finally emerging.

Melody is gorgeous, sharp and strong. I think she's great and makes mince meat of the others. Plus she is usually right.

She is hilarious to watch but I still think she would be a nightmare to work for or with.
I have a similar woman in my department. She takes all the credit for joint tasks, shouts out to anyone prepared to listen about how hard she works and publicly declares that she doesn't believe anyone else does any work (which she believes). The downside of this is that nobody ever wants to socialise with her, she is rude and insulting to her colleagues and some people get very stressed and upset if they have to work with her because she never acknowledges their contributions and is just difficult in every way. She is bigheaded, a snob and very loud too (remind you of anyone)
Melody is only cut out to work with herself; I reckon she'd be a bit of a Naomi Campbell as an employer.

She and her ridiculous roleplay lost the sales for the team as much as the horrible biscut did.

She was repeatedly trying to take over as PM as she did with Tom last week - but Zoe wouldn't let her. Its just unfortunate that after the first pitch went down like a lead ballon that they didn't drop that stupid segment. Surely they saw the looks on the faces of the buyers?

She's not usually right - she was majorly wrong on the rubbish task, the Paris task and this task.

Melody should have been fired for that ridiculous popcorn idea alone! What was she thinking?

I know this thread is about Melody but since she brings up her awards all the time it is worth mentioning that Zoe also got an award at university (which given her revelations about the big C last night is even more impressive)
Quote:
“Zoe was awarded the ‘Rolls-Royce Manufacturing Technology Prize’ for the highest dissertation mark in the school of engineering.”

Well-done to Zoe, but she was wise not to mention it in the boardroom. A real academic achievement in Engineeering - Sugar would have had her out of 'the process' in seconds.

Right about what? She wasn't right about the car seat, or about the role play (I don't know how Zoe, who seems to at least have a bit of common sense, ever let her do that).

This is exactly what I was saying (or probably shouting with rage) to my OH last night! It annoyed me immensely but even though I wasnt keen on Zoe, I loved how she worked this out about Melody.

I have quite liked Melody all series, voice aside, but I have really gone off her the last 2 weeks.

I loved the moment in last night's episode where she was in her dressing gown and Susan (I think it was her anyway) said something like "you are suitably dressed for the occasion".

I did think Melody looked very pretty when Suralun came round to tell them about the task. Her features were a lot softer without her make up and IMO she looked a lot better without it.

I'm surprised no one picked this up in the board room. They seemed to think the product was the sole reason why they failed to obtain orders. Probably because all were involved. Zoe still should have known better.

I agree! Trouble is, Melody seems to believe that she is always right, in addition to only hearing what she wants to hear (like last week with LS not being overly impressed with her awards). I hope she goes very soon.

Melody is all about 'business' to the core - She eats, lives, sleeps, and breathes it!! Ultra passion for business, and success. That's what winners are made of, and what any employer would love to see.

On the negative side, she is overly self centered, wants the full spotlight, only her ideas to be used, and is not the best teamplayer.

One of my favourite characters though, and if I was running a business, I'd be more than happy to have her pitching to clients, and representing the company.

Um, no; Zoe chose to work on the branding because she was persuaded it was more important. Who she preferred to work with had nothing to do with it.

It's true she didn't want to work with Melody. If she'd gone to the factory she'd have made sure Melody worked on the branding. She'd have taken Tom or Susan. So where-ever Zoe went, she could make sure Melody would be somewhere else.

Well I dont imagine your business would prosper with such a manipulator, because she simply is incapable of teamwork, which she has shown throughout the various tasks.

This is the reason why in another thread, I mention that someone like Melody is more suited to work as a Public Relations Executive or Marketing Communication Executive. She is too inflexible to be a businesswoman. She could lead any business to disaster if she carries on like that.
