dont apologise, all three albums are masterpieces! I mean WTF goes in her mind?? i want her brain!

Her eccentric beats, her vocals, just so mind whoppingly unbelievable and also revolutionary in her sounds too!

I think out of all three albums Kala is my fave but i love them! Very underrated but nontheless phenomenal!

I love her, a lot. I seen her once (I wish it was more) and I loved it.

Her albums are amazing. I think my favourites from her are Lovealot, $10 and XR2.

She often has it bad, though. She is too alternative for the "R&B" crowd, and too "hip hop" for the indie crowd. I don't let genres dictate the music I like, so it's all good with me.

I think you have to have somewhat of an open mind to appreciate her music. She uses a lot of samples... one from a favourite song of mine "Where Is My Mind" (Pixies). Still, amazing, though.

One thing is that she isn't as big in the UK any more because she seemingly abandoned us for the USA and when she came to tour here she didn't sell too well... but deserved to sell out! Shame!

MIA deserves a lot more attention. I think she is kinda the Bjork for this current generation, the difference mainly being Bjork really pushed herself and got more commercial success and awareness whereas some dont know who MIA is still

BUT i reckon she will still be pushing the limits and promoting herself much much more. Because she is worth it

M.I.A. is one of my all-time favourite artists. Not many people understand my love for her, but that's part of her charm. She's unique and it sort of makes you feel special that you can appreciate her.

Her label, N.E.E.T., is also brilliant. There are some very good artists on there, and they cover several genres.

I like her a lot. I've been to one of her shows, and she's a good performer. I think she gets a bit of bashing because she's more than a little pretentious and has a knack for the controversial.

Any Little Monster that thinks coming out of an egg at the Grammys is shocking needs to look at the video for Born Free.

My favourite album from her is Arular.

I remember when /\/\ /\ Y /\ first came out, I put it on my iPod and laid down in bed to listen to the songs. This was the time I had my monster earphones, turned the iPod up full blast. I got past The Message, and then, unbeknown to me, drills pierced my eardrums! I've never experienced anything like it, I had a headache all night after that.
That will always be in my head now.

But yeah, XXXO was immense, as was Paper Planes. I know of nobody else that likes her, but I do like a lot of what she does, I just have to be in the mood for her.

I love the whole "drill" kinda sound, very distorted and hooks into you!

Maya was deffo her most surreal in sound thus far with more Dubby kinda sounds....slick though!

Born Free is such an anthem

I totally agree. I thought she was going to go all mainstream on our asses after Paper Planes, and I sort of wished she did as she's great, but I think she just prefers to operate just under the mainstream, only popping up for the album release.

10 Dollar is my favourite too. "Lolita was a man eater, clocked him like a taxi meter!" LOL.

Lot of love for Amazon too. Arular is my favourite album of hers but I really liked XXXO and Internet Connection from her third album, was never mad keen on Kala.. Apart from Jimmy. That was genius.

very much thirded with that statement!

MIA and Robyn are two artists that have minor success but never reach massive level scale mainstream popularity nor recognition. In some ways i am glad they havent sold out or anything and remain to their respective talents and strengths

Arular, Kala, Maya are just simplaaaay absurdly PERFECT!

Was in the record store a few days ago and seen the most epic looking special edition of Kala, it had a holographic cover with a bonus disc, was so going to buy it but didn't have the funds GUTTED! It seemed pretty dear on Amazon too for some reason
