Madonna - Isaac
Anyone else wish she had made this the fifth single from Confession On The Dancefloor?
This should have been the official video as well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9o12iMBSnE Such an overlooked, yet brilliant track. Though I suppose all the songs on Confessions could have been singles. |

Great song but don't think it would have worked as a single, I would have liked Future Lovers or Push as the 5th single. Amazing album though.

I might have to spin this album laters. I'm in the mood now. |

Do you have the Confessions Tour soundtrack, thats so much better, love her intro with Future Lovers/I Feel Love, I wish I had been into Madonna back then and gone to the tour.

I love Issac. I never really considered it as a single though. The singles were so clear from the onset then I didn't really think about it at the time.
I would have loved Let It Will Be over Jump. The album version mind, not that remix that she always performed. Future Lovers was always the albums weak point for me, up until I heard the live version with I Feel Love. Something clicked and I just love that track now! The lyrics at the start make me laugh... 'administration, bills and loans' |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07DBz9ZUGcA Like A Virgin 2006 is my favourite remix of that song. |

I love her version of Music on the Confessions Tour and also love La Isla Bonita 2006 version, Candy Shop was a great opener on Sticky & Sweet and also the live version of Human Nature made me like the studio version, as wasn't very keen on it at first.

Issac is my fav tune on Confessions. Madonna went through one of her many great periods with that album and tour. My choice for another single would of been Let It Will Be.
Future Lovers became stale after awhile with me but after the opening to the Confessions Tour the song found it's way back into my good books. James_B mentioned Candy Shop never liked that song but it worked so well live, i'm back to skipping that song when i listen to Hard Candy, that and 4 others. Lets hope for a better album next year. |

it's a horrid song, it's a bit like a Eurovision entry from Turkey circa 2001. Doesn't fit on the album at all. Best unreleased track from Confessions was Forbidden Love.

Isaac was definitely the most experimental out of the album! absolute genius album! As a single unsure HOW it would work. I swear The Apprentice had some of the riffs for backing for a few series....i remember saying....Sir Alan (at the time now Lord Sugz) must love Isaac! ![]() Also for a single would have loved I Love New York for promo as it has a cult following for its inane but fun lyrics. AND Let It Will Be, reminded me of Papa Dont Preach with the opening orchestra-like power! Liked the live version but the album version ROCKED! |

I'd have had Let It Will Be as a single.
Isaac was a bit too out there for a single, as an album track it was fine, but I doubt it would have sold well as a single. |

I've loved Isaac straight away! It's very cryptic but it's so uplifting at the same time. Never thought it'd be single material though. Was happy to see Get Together being given a release - it's one of my favorites of the album - and I'd have preferred to see Push and/or Let It Will Be released instead of Jump. I like the song but I think it's quite weak as a single compared to LIWB or Push which I hope would be a single after hearing it first on Sara Cox's programme when Radio 1 did a special on COADF.
More than having Isaac released as a single, I'd have loved to have Fighting Spirit added as a hidden track at the end of the album. It's a great tune and even if I can see why it couldn't be included, it'd have been just a great encore to cool you down after an hour non-stop of pure dance music

Isaac is great but radio would never have played it.
Let It Will Be should have been a single. I don't understand why it wasn't. Unless she felt people would think she was bigging up her ego and legacy too much and didn't want a self indulgent backlash happening. Speaking of Let It Will Be as well. Listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DlD4N8am0m8 As all of Confessions contained samples was the intro of Let It Will Be that of Papa Don't Preach reworked? I can never tell but always assumed it was. |

Confessions is my fave Madonna album.
I hope her new material is a follow up to that. Steve Price really connected with her. Though I suppose with the rise of Gaga, Madonna will have to pull something massive out of the hat. |

This might be it. While she likes to speak of her status she doesn't seem to like drawing attention to it either. Celebration was going to be called Queen Of Pop according to a Warner exec but Madonna wanted it called Celebration instead.
I think while Let It Will Be hints at her career i think so many can relate to it. hitting highs and hitting personal lows it would have been MASSIVE. And agreed on Push for a release too, very trippy beats and she said it was a follow up of sorts to Borderline and you can really hear it in some respects. It is a phenomenal album. And would also have loved Fighting Spirit and Land Of The Free (i think that was what it was called) to have been on the album also. |

Isaac is one of my favourites from the album.
![]() It's very experimental for her, so it probably wouldn't have done well as a single. But that doesn't really matter anymore, as nothing past the second single have been hits for her for the last three albums. |

But that doesn't really matter anymore, as nothing past the second single have been hits for her for the last three albums. And actually very few can. ROL, Music, AL, Confessions and Hard Candy (well maybe not HC) have had all singles in the top 10 (or Love Profusion close to it) so that is a success. BUT for an artist three decades in that is still an impressive feat! Also Britney/gaga/Rihanna do have difficulty themselves with their releases (especially Britney even here in the UK) so yeah Madonna keeps kickin tha arse! And yeah Forbidden Love would have been fantastic as a release too! To be honest the entire record coud have been really milked for hits! They all would have been top 10 at least! Also all her singles for the album were very far in between i felt (up to 4 months inbetween each release!) also would have loved (as several have also mentioned) for each video to segue together like the album itself and tell a bigger story of Madonna and her Dance Troupe, capture that Urban Dance side to New York in a broader aspect than JUST Hung Up and Sorry!

Confessions came along just before deluxe's started becoming the norm but I agree a deluxe of Confessions would have been ace all the material that has leaked since.
Although Madonna often reworks many of her unused tracks and developes them into new. Keep The Trance is Hey You while It's So Cool was a guitar number she made it into a new trance version for the GH. |
