What to cook - 6 adults / 3 children
I'm entertaining on Sunday and need to cook for 3 adults and 3 kids.
Any suggestions on what I can cook that is easy to prepare and doesn't take hours to cook please? |

How about a big lasagna and some garlic bread? Or a big bowl of chilli, rice and a few sides like quacamoli (sp) sour cream, tortillas and the like?

What about a roast chicken with some salad and crusty bread.

How old are the kids? Not sure if young kids would like lasagne.
I would go along with roast chicken or chicken pieces (if they are meat eaters), salad, garlic bread and a few dips. Then a nice simple pud. |

Why wouldn't young kids like lasagne? It is the type of mushy food they like.

A bol sauce doesn't take long, say 40 - 50 minutes, the bechamel in 20 mins (crack on with that while the bol is simmering), then 20 mins in the oven. From prep to out of the oven in less than an hour and a half. With salad and garlic bread. Or for kids that don't like salad, do some chips to go with it. Job done. You could always do a veg bol sauce. By the time its sandwiched between the pasta and bechamel, the kids won't realise they're getting something fresh and healthy. Would certainly make up for the chips if they don't want salad. It's just as tasty, if not more so. |

I didn't grow up eating pasta so wouldn't have liked to eat it.

We ate what we were given or went hungry. |

I'm a bit late on this one but on a day like today I would have gone for a help yourself buffet with something like a cottage pie or lasgne, a selection of cold meats, cheese, breads and loads of salad.
