I get a really annoying ripple on the RHS of screen sometimes when playing a DVD. Happens on water screens but also grass...tried both S-Video and RGB and used two different DVD players but still the same.....

The ripple is from top to bottom and reaches across about 1/4 of the RHS of screen. Anyone ever see this?

I get this on my 24in W/S Toshiba. Have seen it on quite a lot of Toshibas and Philips ion the shops, for that matter. Doesn't seem that there is much you can do about it (even using the service menu) I just live with it now.

Check for magnetic interference near that side of the TV. Speakers too close? That sort of thing...

I get this on my Philips TV, I have noticed that it only happens when playing a DVD and on some DVD's and not others. With me it only seems to happen with DVD's that have a lot crammed into them, for instance TV series DVD's with up to 240 minutes of viewing material per disc. I'm certainly no expert but it may be due to compression/quality of the source material. I've never seen this problem on a high quality DVD movie.

From my experience it is more 'noticable' on TV material rather than films. I put this down to the fact that most TV suff if showing at 50 fields per second (interlaced), whereas films are 25 frames per second (non-interlaced). It seems to make a difference.

This would explain why srobbo999 notices it on TV series DVD's, but not others.
