Sharing apps between iTunes accounts

Looking for a bit of help here, I've had an iPad since December and this is the only 'i' device in the house so far so thing have been easy, I buy all apps and music on the pad and only plug it in to the pc very occasionally to sync things back to the pc

However the kids are now getting iPods, I believe if I use my iTunes account on there iPads then they can download the same apps that I have (keeping in mind comparability issues) but I would ideally like to give the kids there own iTunes account so they don't have access to mine. Is there anyway to share the apps that I've already paid for to the kids iPods.

I've come across lots of info via google things from using home sharing or copying file from one profile to another but most of these are quoted dated posts ...

Just wondering if this is possible and If someone could point me in the right direction here

Pc wise it's all windows, I can either use 1 pc for all iTunes accounts or 1pc per 'i' device whichever is easier

Thanks for any advice

They will need to use your account or have to buy all the apps again.

Also consider that many apps are now iPad only, so generally only the Universal apps (the ones with a + on itunes store) or iPhone apps (the ones that look tiny on the iPad) will be able to be installed on the iPod touch.

Will the kids want the same apps as you? I would be tempted to set up their own account but limit it to iTunes vouchers/cards rather than linked to a bank account. There are more than enough free apps, or apps that have free 'lite' versions to keep them entertained.

Thanks for that, I was more thinking of the kids sharing apps so they don't pay for them twice, and I think there are only 2-3 universal apps that I have paid for anyway.

But I got it all working, each user has there own iTunes account and home sharing is enabled using my account which allows us to share apps between each other libraries and then install them onto the iPad/iPod

Bigest problem I found was creating the kids accounts without using a credit card. Surely that should be a bit easier rather than having to attempt to buy a free app when no one is signed in the create the account from there, or using a prepay card, just the way apple is I suppose.

just let them use your iTunes account account and drag n drop the apps saved on your PC using itunes. you shouldn't have to worry about them downloading 'paid' apps cos you have to put in the password to confirm the download.

just make sure the kids don't know the password. easy.

if you sync your ipad to the pc. then sync their ipods to the same pc and it should just transfer the app to your kids ipod.

my brother gets all apps i paid for by syncing to the pc
