If you were in the final and they brought back some ex-contestants to help would you want Mellody in your team?

Yes. I would put her in charge of market research and do the exact opposite of what she says.

Yes, we can assume so. She is also presenting at a youth event in a few weeks time.

My own feeling is that youth work is best undertaken by public sector and third sector providers (as opposed to private sector consultancies), but that's just me.

I have to admit, writing an email to someone and you never hear back isn't exactly 'an experience'.

Lets hope not, I was appalled at Alan Sugar's remark that 'She will walk over and tread over anyone. She will eat them up and spit them out for breakfast, thats what I like about her'. She behaves in a totally selfish way completely disregarding other people in order to gain more for herself. Her frosty disposition and cut throat attitude is terrible and if that is the sort of person Lord Sugar thinks would make a good employee then he has gone down in my estimation.

That confirms it - Melody is a cold-hearted b~t~h, what a nerve she has!

I couldn't agree more...

He's not looking for an employee - if it was the apprentice of old then she would not be suitable. But if you're going to give someone a bit of money, and trust them to bring a return, it's probably more re-assuring if they are the ruthless type.

Confidence is one thing, but arrogance is quite another. Why would anyone want a business partner who doesn't listen to feedback about their own weaknesses?

Certainly.

I can't think of LS giving Melody much feedback, I may have forgotten though, but the only real interaction that comes to mind was quite positive.

If it's coming from the other candidates - well I don't blame her for ignoring it.

Whether employee or top-executive entrepreneur, things have now changed. The mass media including TV and PC chat rooms zero in on small details for public scrutiny. The arrogance of Gerald ("Ratners sell crap to the public") Ratner resulted in his business burial. Karren's onscreen OTT blast at Susan caused a public backlash after the Paris episode, and media-savvy Karren was quick to try mend fences on the biscuit YF program last week.

It is no longer possible for a tycoon to utterlyly antagonise the public who are his customers. Sugar does swear and call names, but he does it in good humour with sidesplitting wit. Melody does not have such graces to redeem her crude ruthlessness.

Just remembered this - just after LS has said the above, and Melody gets up to leave, Sugardaddy has a quick glance at the backside.

During any part of that sequence of events did he mutter the words 'tapping' or 'that'?

It's hardly an experience OP considering there was no experience to start off with.

I thought The Apprentice was filmed in at least three weeks' advance?

Filmed months in advance, but I believe Your're Fired is broadcast in real time just after BBC1 screening of the canned episode earlier the same evening. Hence why Zoe looked so different from the episode. Not only that she had a BBC makeover, but that as much as 6 months have elapsed. If this is correct then Karren had a few days to discover to her surprise how much ruckus she stirred up for herself in the DS Forum. Forum posters do not pay her salary, but media-savvy Karren knows that they reflect the general population to some extent, hence her U-turn -- very effective from what i saw on YF.

I generally don't know what you're on about, have I missed something interesting? If so please tell!

The Apprentice itself is filmed months in advance of transmission but the 'after programme' (TA You're Fired) is recorded just a few days before transmission.
