Any Carpenters fans out there?
I am a big fan of The Carpenters. I've got all their albums and listen to them regularly. Are there other fans out there?....if so what is your favourite Carpenters song?

Calling Occupants is one of my faves, along with For All We Know. Karen had such a soothing voice.

Probably an obvious choice, but I adore "Rainy Days and Mondays".

I love their music but listening to it is always tinged with sadness because of Karen's tragic and untimely death. Don't think I could pick a favourite!

I adore them! Currently, my favourite is Only Yesterday
![]() I urge people (who already haven't) to buy their 1975 album Horizon. That is sublime and possibly the best album they ever recorded. |

Solitaire is such a lovely song and Karen's voice is so well suited to it, it makes it almost impossible for others to cover successfully. Oh, those low notes!

Also like 'Calling Occupants...' Dammit, I'm going to have to dig my Carpenters CD out now.

Love The Carpenters. I have everything they ever recorded. Karen had a voice of pure gold.
It's a shame they are still, to a degree, seen a sugar sweet pop. They released some very good songs. I wish I could get a hold of the Karen Carpenter film with Cynthia Gibb. I know I cry each time I watch it. such a tragic end to her life. My favourite tracks are - Now, Rainy Days & Mondays, I Need To Be In Love, Only Yesterday, For All We Know, Eve, Where Do I Go From Here?, Two Lives |

I don't think there's a Carpenters song I haven't at least liked. My favourite track tends to switch around but I'd have to say their cover of 'There's A Kind of Hush,' is my current favourite. Come December it'll be 'Merry Christmas Darling' - I love the 'Christmas Portrait' album.
I used to listen to 'Touch Me When We're Dancing' and 'Yesterday Once More' a lot when I was growing up because I had them on a mix tape. |
