Men should not wear sandals/flip flops
I've resisted wearing these since I was a toddler and I feel the same way about them now as I did then.
Firstly, it's not a 'masculine' thing to be wearing them. Secondly, men's bare feet are the most awful sight. Even I never like looking at mine. I shower every day so at least I keep mine nice and clean, but during the summer the least I'd wear on top of them are canvas/tennis shoes or espadrilles.Women have pretty feet in general so it's fine for them to be wearing them. The fact that men are generally paler than females in the summer makes the sight of a bloke in flip flops even worse. Men should dress conservatively and only expose the parts of their body that generally look good. But not their feet. Does anyone else think the same? |

Don't worry I won't expose my bare feet to you in sandals as I wear socks with mine

You sound like you've got a foot phobia or something. No surprise you don't like to see men in sandals if you can't hardly bear your own feet, never mind anyone else's.
![]() I suppose some men probably like their feet and a lot of men don't give their feet a second's thought. Men in sandals or flip flops are fine by me, in as much as I notice them. |

I wear sandals on the beach, and I couldn't give two shits if it's masculine or not.

Huh?
Most men look fine in flip flops and sandals. Nice tanned legs and a pair of (not too brief) shorts or cropped trousers looks good. The only time they don't is when they wear socks with them. |

Blimey, generalisation over-load.
Better to wear sandals and flip-flops than to have stinky feet! |

I think I'm going to buy a pair tomorrow and wear them every day until the end of summer just to spite you.

OP this is exactly how I feel about sandals. They look terrible on men!
And I'm not too keen on men who cross their legs when sitting.... |

I'm just hoping they will eventually become unfashionable and be removed from the shelves. |

I think the OP has a foot fetish! I bet you love it at this time of year don't you. All those young single mothers out for their bread and milk, all those business women on the bus and train trying to get to their work all walking in their sandles and fancy footwear showing off their cheesy feet lol.

But flip flops never used to be worn much by men until the last 10 years or so, when for whatever reason they became fashionable.
I'm just hoping they will eventually become unfashionable and be removed from the shelves. |

Female feet are a lovely sight indeed. I just don't like having to navigate my eyes past men's legs and feet to see them.

Though it might be more masculine to just be barefoot, no matter the terrain. |

I wear sandals at my desk at work and I hear it almost every day from someone, espcially when I go down into the staff canteen with them on. My response is always, "what do you expect, I work in IT". TBH I really couldn't give a crap what people think. |

Sandals look perfectly fine with socks as long as they aren't white socks. Socks with sandals is one of those stupid things that became a de facto fashion faux pas through word of mouth and people just repeat it like drones when they see them.
If, as you say, people have been conned into thinking socks shouldn't be worn with sandals, why have you not been conned seeing as you agree with them for the subset of socks which are white? |

I think a man can look super hot in flip flops and swimming trunks, especially if he has great legs.

That's very strange logic.
