Thursday 18th, apologies.

100% confirmed in the past few minutes by Channel 5 final exchange.

Probably won't stop ITV's impoverished controller (shall we start calling him Mrs Hubbard?) from commissioning another few runs of it though...

Flogging a dead Morse?

(I thank you...)

I'm a big Lewis fan, so hope it returns. One of ITV's remaining jewels. But the ratings are on the slide and it's sumptuously expensive. I can't see it being around much longer.

But I think one successful spin off from probably ITV's best ever series is enough. The Young Morse show sounds desperate...

Two hours of Big Brother is a lot especially with BOTS at 11pm, I kind of hope that Channel 5 acquires a new US sitcom that could air on Fridays between the interview and the eviction show.

Ah right, thanks. It should do well on that night. Do you have the schedule for Saturday and Sunday please? Wondering if they still have the Saturday show. Also any live streaming on 5* or C5?

Edit: just seen your above post.”

I only have scheduling data for the first two days. There is no live streaming scheduled for either Channel 5 or 5* in that time.

OK! TV has a "When Bruv Takes Over" special on the Wednesday, strangely, but I suspect this was planned before they moved the launch to Thursday.

Personally I'm glad the launch is on Thursday - none of the imported dramas on BBC One, ITV1 and Channel 4 have taken off in a big way in that 9pm slot - Celeb BB will provide something different. And with it finishing at 10:30pm, no doubt lots of those drama viewers will tune in at 10pm to see who's going in... It also puts pay to any spoiler from Channel 4, unless they are going to rip their whole schedule apart in desperation.

I'm waiting for The Million Pound Drop Live to appear from 9pm to 10:30pm on Big Brother launch night given that the latest round of applications closed on 21st July...

My guess is that WTDYTYA would have dented it especially if they broadcast the JK Rowling episode, Thursday will allow them to take advanatge of the not very strong opposition.

My guess is apart from Fridays and maybe the weekend, Big Brother will be at 10pm so that Channel 5 8 and 9pm schedule are unaffected.

I doubt that to be honest. Isn't Davina on her hols at the minute? And not sure how she'd feel about going against the show that made her a household name!

Yes I agree. I think that report on Celeb Britain yesterday was bogus. Where would Miami for example go if CBB is going to be 9pm-11pm most nights? It doesn't add up.

Channel 5 have a really nice looking Friday schedule now with The Gadget Show, CBB x 2 and The Bachelor. I think that has the makings of a ratings hit!

There's serious question marks about Saturday though because they won't be able to fit all the US crime dramas in if they choose to have a Saturday h/l show. And Law and Order: Criminal Intent is still unplaced. Sundays is anyone's guess.

I suspect it will be in the 10pm hour.

8pm hour has to be ruled out for obvious reasons come mid September. 9pm hour is unlikely as I suspect BBC1 and ITV1 will have strong programming there from mid September - ITV1 has Downton Abbey which brings ~8m straight away.

Saturdays they could easily drop an episode because it's always been the lowest rated night, my guess would be CI will air at 9pm, they could easily drop a repeat or two of NCIS. Sundays a little trickier especially if they want to air premieres that aren't exactly 8pm friendly so my solution would be for some premieres 7.30pm/8pm with BB Afterwards or BB at 8pm with the film premiere at 9pm.

Do they still have cricket to show or is it finished for the year,

What film premieres do Channel 5 have left to air this year? Angels & Demons, what else?

Aug 10-14: 3rd npower Test v India, Edgbaston
Aug 18-22: 4th npower Test v India, Kia Oval

I think that's it as far as test cricket is concerned, maybe some ODI's to come in September.

Step Brothers, Vantage Point, 21, The House Bunny, Seven Pounds from the Sony Pictures catalogue from 2008. I imagine Angels and Demons will premiere this year even though it was released in 2009 and maybe Terminator Salvation, 2012 I think they'll more likely show next year. Channel 5 did pick up some WB films last year though so a similar situation could happen this year.

I watched Terminator Salvation last night. What a great movie, highly underrated IMO. But I'm not sure if C5 have it as it has a different distributor to the other Terminator movies.

Looking forward to seeing Seven Pounds and Step Brothers. Those will pick up strong audiences IMO, as well as Angels & Demons.

Interesting scheduling decision and I think it's the right one. At least BBBOTS is split from the main show so it won't pull the Thursday average down and it has the strongest lead in possible from Cowboy Builders. Nice to see them capitalising on the lead in with The Bachelor too. It's an entertainment show, right? US import too? Hopefully it won't go the same way as other entertainment offerings have gone.

UK version with Gavin Henson.

TS was released internationally by Columbia Pictures so Channel 5 will have the rights to it. Seven Pounds is very heavy drama so I can't it doing it well.

If I were Channel 5, I would seriously consider trying to get the film output deal with WB although I imagine Harry Potter would be excluded in the same way Bond and Star Wars as it would give them a strong amount of films especially with the likes of The Hangover, Inception etc

Does anybody know when the Chase will be showing some new episodes.
Dancc

Yeah, it's great to see them using CBB to lead-in to another high-profile commission that will likely appeal to a similar audience. That's a very clever move. The Bachelor only has Chris Moyles and Top 10 Inbetweeners Moments to contend with on Channel 4, so that could be a high rater...

Channel 5 have tweeted about the long delayed The Beat Goes On, wonder where that'll go? My guess would be a 8pm weekday slot or Sundays.

I think Sundays as well. There is a market for this pre-X Factor going there in September.

I reckon:

7pm: Cricket on 5: Fourth Test
8pm: The Beat Goes On
9pm: Celebrity Big Brother
10pm: Movie

Probably way out, but that's my guess. Then on Monday:

7pm: Cricket on 5: Fourth Test
8pm: Ultimate Police Interceptors
9pm: Extraordinary People
10pm: Celebrity Big Brother
11pm: Celebrity Big Brother's Bit on the Side

Again, just a guess.
