Up until last week I would have agreed with you - then the Milly Dowler angle changed everything.

Lack of interest? QT got is highest figure of the year last night. The average audience was 33% above normal, while Newsnight (at the same time) was getting twice what it usually pulls on a Thursday. We haven't seen the peaks for both yet.

All the news programmes have benefited substantially from this story. (Apart from Daybreak, obviously.)

Just saw Dynamo's rating. 662,000 that's really good for Watch.

Digital Spy have their ratings round-up and I expected some higher ratings for BBC1. They didn't promote that Apprentice show at all did they?

2.2m (10%) for The Killing on C4.

Not bad for a double episode debut.

an expected good rating for EE

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...emmerdale.html

That Emmerdale rating however is VERY low, and that +1 figure, doesnt come close to making up for it, taking the rating to 4.05 million.

Hollyoaks seems to found its viewers, not sure why but then I dont watch.

Can i just say how incredibly irritating the DS ratings reports are to read. Question Time did now 'quiz' 3.64m - it's not a bloody quiz show.

Pretty much everything as expected last night, apart from maybe higher debuts for The Killing & Cowboy Builders. The move to 9pm doesn't seem to have harmed CB, but it may dip next week with Torchwood & Single Handed on the big 2-or it may have the opposite effect with 3 terrestrials airing drama.

Not surprised at all by the low Emmerdale & Candy Bar ratings. Candy sounded like an awful show and things struggle at 10pm on Ch5 anyway. Emmerdale imo dipped to new lows last night airing what was probably the worst double of the year with an extremely weak cliffhanger. It was no wonder viewers deserted it at 8pm.

So the Clash really didn't help Emmerdale or Eastenders. I would have thought Eastenders would have got over 8 million with no Clash.

true EE could have been better, but BBC 3 had good ratings, and there is no question Emmerdale was hurt ALOT more.

Those type of things normally irritate me, however people are questioned on the show - so it is technically quizzing, not a game show but a quiz show.

You haven't got enough things to worry about.

Hmmm, I don't think the EastEnders rating is anything to shout about, however I didn't see it promoted once. I also think ITV were foolish not to put Emmerdale on from 7pm to 8pm, Tonight at 8pm with Corrie at 8:30pm so Emmerdale would not be damaged.

Thought Question Time would have had 4m+, but still good stuff for it.

Yeah but 3.64m people were not quizzed, a panel of 5 were quizzed.

...and as a show produced by Fox, seemingly not affected by the current anti-Murdoch sentiment!!

Ouch for Candy Bar Girls, but deserved as it's yet another god-awful piece of trash from C5.

Good for The Killing.

It's not quite the miserable failure Seven Days was yet though, which curiously I don't recall you being quite so gleeful about. And the stellar 7 per cent audience share for Cowboy Builders meant it was a good night for C5 overall.

The Killing will shed fast just like Camelot before it. Torchwood will destroy it next week.

great for the killing but as dancc said the real test will be next week
itv failed with their kate programme which they deserved to

great for EE, 9.01m when the repeat is added!

Corrie aside it was a poor night for ITV all around.
