Repeats. Animal Planet cancelled the series in 2009 after 4 series.

I think it would be better played as compared the meerkat, with no mention at all of the car insurance side.

Don't see why folk are surprised at LWWTBAMSOFSCS winning its slot, given how well in relative terms the previous LWWTBAMCSs have done. My Family is damaged goods having been publicly axed.

That excuse doesn't seem to be the case with The Royal though. It wasn't the case for Heartbeat either.

The Royal's been sat on the shelf for ages since its axe though, so not quite the same.

The only show that was down a fair chunk was The One Show due to the fact that it was a repeat this week.
I expect The Open golf was pulling good figures from 7-8pm. |

There are still stories being printed about its axe now. The Royal has long been forgotten.
The fact is The Royal was axed becuase the demos were wrong for ITV. My Family was axed because they had run out of ideas and the quality of the show (already panned) has dipped even further. Hence The Royal has 'held up' relatively speaking. My Family has not. |

You can't compare My Family with The Royal. The former has a more sophisticated audience (or did) who would be aware of its axing and also the declining quality. The Royal and Heartbeat are different - Sunday night nursing home mush for those who like their veg overboiled. You could show the same episode week after week and a large number of the audience wouldn't notice.
Actually, I think Heartbeat did manage something close to that trick for nearly 20 years.... |

ITV have no programmes in the top 20, and have taken up six slots in the bottom ten. Says it all.
How do the soaps generally do in the AIs, please? ![]()

Very impressive AI for it to be the top original British primetime programme in that list. The icing on the cake, for what has been a really successful second series ratings wise.
