Something needed to be done about The Gadget Show considering its lacklustre performance of the last series. Friday nights could be a genius move, or it could go the opposite way imo. Stuff like Eddie Stobart, IRT performs well there so TGS could tap into that audience, or it could keep on falling. Although with a BB lead out hopefully it will perform part of a strong schedule.

Emmerdale wasn't tape checked last night. On Monday ratings about 70% of the time Emmerdale tends to be a full slot rating from DS. These are the Attentional soap timings for yesterday:

Does anybody have the rating for Pointless yesterday? Richard Osman on Twitter stated over 3 million watched yesterday bit I'm 100% convinced that was either a 1 or 5 minute peak. Probably at 5.55pm.

You can hardly say Manford was a BBC face that ITV poached in the same way as Bleakley and Chiles
Manford has done work across many channels, was only on the One Show for about 5 mins, and left before he started working on ITV.
Right, if I've got the dates right then it definitely looks like BB will launch w/b 15/08/11. Candy Bar Girls finishes the week before freeing up every 10pm slot, apart from Saturdays. But I would guess the highlights will be dropped from Saturdays. Cowboy Builders and Castle are due to finish on the same week as the BB launch meaning that there probably won't be a live show on Friday 19th, but BB will take the 9pm slot from the following week. Monday & Thursday at 9pm will have to be filled with factual, because it's the only thing which will fit in those slots, unless they are planning on having a 9pm/10pm split.
IMO the best launch would be on Tuesday 16th August split around CSI:Miami, with something like this:
8pm-BB Launch:Part 1
9pm-CSI:Miami
10pm-BB Launch:Part 2
11pm-BB: Live
With ITV giving up on the Tuesday 8pm slot airing repeats of Cops With Camera, the only main competition should be Holby. This should also give Miami a boost too. Although, unless there is any big event on ITV1 on the Wednesday I can see this being the chosen start date with a 9-10.30pm slot.

No, it was a Newsflash due to the Met Police Commissioner resigning. However it probably only occured because there was no News at 10 as normal - the newsflash could have gone out at 8pm if it was deemed that urgent but it didnt. Bad night for the news to have been scheduled so late really but just one of those things

Cowboy Builders is actually 9 episodes this series, so won't finish until September 1st. (or the 8th if they rest it during BB launch week)
Nice idea wrapping the launch around CSI: Miami. If it doesn't launch on the Thursday, then Tuesday looks to be the 2nd best option. Both the 16th and the 18th have been rumoured as start dates, either or suits me.
The CSI: Miami launch seems to be getting more coverage than normal, with "H" featuring on the front page of a number of TV listings magazines out today. I think they will use the launch of the new season on July 26th to begin promo for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother. Roughly 3 weeks before seems about right to me.

The problem is there were too many ways to watch this afternoon's proceedings. BBC Two, BBC News, Sky News, BBC Parliament, BBC Online, Sky News Online, etc etc...
So I doubt we'll see anything particularly standout for any of the individual programmes or channels. Above average for sure, though.

Week 31 schedules are up on DigiGuide. Not much happening bar the return of Dragons' Den with a 90 minute episode (Sun 31st July, 9pm, BBC Two).
Also, once Embarrassing Teen Bodies wraps up, guess what Channel 4 are replacing it with??
It just goes on and on and on. But whilst it still rates I guess it's working...

Yes, some absolute stinkers this summer. I still think 9pm on weeknights is wrong for programmes such as this, though, and it's a little too late for Saturdays, too.

Just come back from my new girlfriends after 4 days away and seen the Corrie ratings. Now was this show in some kind of crisis last week with the tabloids trying to say it was dying or some such rubbish? I knew this was a blip due to the hot weather.

Considering though the stream opens automatically when you go to the live text that figure is a bit skewed. Even catching up in text form though every half hour or so was fascinating.

Didn't Teen Bodies actually replace Fat Bodies though? I see no harm though in the strand basically having a regular slot in the schedules for one spin-off to replace another - it's better than having series stripped across a week or having 2 or 3 versions of the same show airing in one week.
